Arrival Story:
I found an Ad, up at the Vet's Office. The Ad said:6 month old female part Jack Russell Terrior/Bassett Hound cross. Well,I couldn't resist, going to have a look at her. My husband and I drove over to the person, who had her up for adoption. The woman had 5 children all under the age of 7 years old. She also had a beautiful big black long haired mixed breed Dog. She explained to us, how she had found "Piddles" in a parking lot in January,in a box with a Snow Storm, blowing all around. She had heard her crying and when she opened the box, she found this wee puppy, shivering with cold and fear. The woman took her home for the night and fed her with a bottle of formula. The very next day, she took "Piddles" to the Vet, who told her she was only 4 weeks old. The woman explained to us,she was really hoping to keep her but trying to train "Piddles" to do her business outside, was becoming quite a chore. Another reason she was adopting "Piddles" out was because the children were constantly picking her up and fighting over, who was going to hold her next. Also she didn't really have the time to give "Piddles", the attention, she should be given, now she had gotten a new job. I loved "Piddles" at first sight. She looked so forlorn and snuggled her nose under my arm, as if to say,"take me home ,puleeese" My husband was impressed with her colouring, white with big brown patches and her friendly disposition. First thing, we did was find her a new name.I decided to rename her "Dixie" as a salute to all of my internet friends, South of the border. We've never regretted, the decision of adopting her and bringing her home. Dixie, truly has been a blessing, to us both. Woof! Woof!

I woke up from under the dresser, where I sleep in my humans bedroom. I then stretched my legs and back. I woke my human mother up at 5:30a.m., by licking her hand, cause I had to do my duty.

I learned that if I lick her hands or feet, my human Mom will wake up and knows I have to go outside, when she is still sleeping. I had to go pee-pees really bad.
She let me out and I seen this weird animal, in the yard across the street. My human Mother called it a "Skunk".I don't think she was fully awake at first.

I had seen them before and didn't like their smell, so I did as I was told. I didn't want to get that terrible smell on me. I like to please my humans and stay out of trouble. She told me to go pee-pees real quick, so I did and dashed straight back into the house.

She said I was such a good girl for telling her, I needed to go out for Pee-pees and for listening by not going, near that strange smelling, looking animal, called a Skunk.

I got two Treats for being a good girl. We then went back to sleep.

Woof! Woof! fur now
