Arrival Story:
Right before we got married, we took a survey on Purina.com that matched you with the breed best suited to your lifestyle. The Spinone came up #2, and we had never heard of one, so we did some research into nearby breeders and the breed in general. It was a perfect match! And, ironically, we've never been able to find that exact survey or get the Spinone as a result since! We were lucky enough to get Tess from a wonderful breeder when she was just under 8 weeks old. She grabbed our hearts the instant we met her.
Bio:
Tessie full name is Contessa Baci di Fiorenza. She has inflammatory bowel disease and was sick for quite a while as a young pup before a diagnosis and treatment, but is now in remission (thank goodness and knock on wood!). She is very sweet, smart, and sensitive, and LOVES people, especially little kids. She greets us at the door each day with a toy in her mouth and a trumpeting, grumbly noise of joy. She is very gentle and very tolerant of her "brother" and even enjoys going to the vet. Her canine mom Daisy, sister Luci, and half-sister Angel are all on dogster.com too.

Long time, no write. Sorry about that. Today is my "brother's" birthday. He is 4. Mom and dad came home with some new treats and two new toys. Supposedly they are Fonzie's, but, really, I can play with them all I want too.
This year (Oct.3) was my lucky 7th birthday. I am still as lively and perky as ever, and so smart I scare my people sometimes.
It is snowing out today, but it is more icy rainy stuff than the good stuff. Maybe later?
Anyway, just thought I'd say hey. Now, it is time for a nap.

Boy, has this been some winter. Snowy and cold for months now. I love the snow, but when it is this cold, it is hard to spend much time outside without my beard getting all icy. And, when we were in the car the other day, on the way to the vet for some shots for me, it was too cold to even have the windows open for long. I don't like it when it is hot, but this IS getting kind of ridiculous!
My doctor's appt. went just fine. I weigh a nice, healthy symmetrical 66 lbs. For the last few months I have been doing really well eating just dry kibble...no smelly, mushy canned stuff for me anymore, except as a treat. I like the crunchies and not having my beard cleaned all the time!
So, all in all life is good. Valentine's day is coming -- I'M hoping for a new toy to pull the stuffing out of. If you have a spare one of those around, will YOU be my Valentine and send it to me??

Today is my favorite type of May day...sunny, cool, both mom and dad offof work, and a whole weekend ahead.
Fonz and I played a bit earlier and now we are just lounging. He had a bath yesterday, and I must say that he smell MUCH better. He can be a stinky boy. Dad said something about a spa day for me too, but so far he has kept busy and maybe forgot (phew).
I've noticed more people outside these days now that the weather has gotten better. So much more fun to watch the world go by when there are people in it, not just boring birds and squirrels. I mean, don't get me wrong, those can be entertaining, but I am a people person, um, dog myself.
Fonz has that nap kind of look in his eye, so I'd beter claim my spot next to mom for our siesta.
