Arrival Story: My boyfriend (now fiance) had promised me a dog for months, due to having to leave my dog behind as a teenager when I moved to California. We visited a pet store because a Rescue League was adopting out dogs. My plan was to adopt a beagle, or a basenji-chiuana mix that I had spied on petfinder.
Someone else had chosen the basenji, and the beagle I wanted wanted to eat kittens -- our roommate had a litter. Ready to leave and frustrated, my fiance saw Max. Max was dirty, withdrawn and shy. Meagerly, he accepted my dog treat. However, my fiance says he saw him and he knew that Max was our dog at first sight.....
the rest is history. now we're getting married, and Max is going to be apart of his Mommy and Daddy's ceremony in 2007. We're overjoyed at the happiness he's brought to our life.

Forums Motto: "Hey, are you going to eat that??"

Hi! Mom is done with one of her Finals study guides, so she said I could make a diary entry.
Mommy and Daddy are running around the house readying for guests in the next couple of weeks, and trying to be prepared for Finals Week! They're both Mental Health majors at the local technical college.
Anyway, Mommy really hates her speech class. I think she's fun to look at, but I guess she doesn't agree with me.
For a week, theyve been telling me I'm going to school!! I was confused because the word school means that its time for me to lie on the bed and mope, staring at them when they get out of the shower saying "I just KNOW you're going to leave me! *death-guilt-stare*"
But today, Mommy had to do a persuasive speech. She chose puppy mills as a topic, and why they are bad. Throughout the week while doing her research for her speech, she's made many digusted and unhappy noises. I have to come up and lick her face because it sounds like she's going to cry.
Anyway, I was her visual aid in her speech! She was showing the benefits of adopting a dog from a shelter or a rescue league! Everyone thought I was a lot of fun. A little girl played with me, and lots of people gave me scritches.
I did great Mom said!! But before the speech, I smelled Daddy outside of the room. I ran to the door and jumped on it, knocking it open.. there was Daddy waiting in the hallway! Mom wasn't happy, but she made Dad stay with me while I made my big debut. Daddy held me while Mom did her speech. But boy, did I need to go potty while Mommy was doing her speech! Near the end, I jumped off the door and tried to get to the door. As soon as it was over, Daddy and I ran down the hallway and I got to relieve myself immediately. I really liked school. Caesar, my brother who is a rat (yeah, my family is varied!) got to go to school on Tuesday for Dad's pet therapy presentation. We both agree that going back would be a lot of fun.
Also, last night I had a chance to play with Buck. They called Mom off of work because it was a slow night, so we decided to visit grandma. I had a lot of fun. I want Mom to post some pictures of Buck and I playing soon.
on the verge of Final's week.. hopefully Mom will let me jump on the keyboard some next week!
paws,
Max!

Wow! I think this is terrific! I was impressed that Mom made me my own website cause Buck, my bubba-brudda and best friend, got his own website too. We're pals, Buck and I! I got a chance to spend all Saturday night with him and Grandma. We got hotdogs, too!
Now I'm even more impressed cause of all of the bones and friends I have earned! *grumbles happily*
Welcome! *Gives everyone ear kisses, Humans and Dogs alike!*
Tonight, Mommy waitressed and came home to sit at the computer and do homework. I am very patient with her and Daddy. They are full time students, and Mommy waitresses part time while Daddy works full time. They tell me that I'm the best dog ever because I patiently sit at home waiting on them to arrive (little do they know, thats my nap time! Have to have energy for thinking up creative ways to wake them up in the middle of the night!)-- making no messes, not chewing on anything... but once they get home, chaos ensues when I discover they aren't paying attention to me!
Since they've been home, Ive had cake, spaghetti and I ate the cup that Daddy was drinking milk from. That's what they get! I mean no harm, I just want a little lovin'... they say its "Finals Week" next week. Oh boy, I know around this time everything sucks! I hope they remember to keep me fed. Well, thats why I bring my bowl to their lap when its empty!
When mom told me about all my new friends I was excited! I was ready to go and have a sleep over, like I do at Buck's house when we keep Grandpa and Grandma up all night chewing on things and play fighting!
Sadly, Mom's got more homework, so I have to sign off. I'll be around to visit my friends more often, after this "Final's week" is over. I have to give Mom and Dad extra kisses because they get so frustrated and overwhelmed. Its my job to keep them grounded!

Max
