Doggie Dynamics:
not playfulvery playful

January 1st 2000

when anyone comes home, even if he's just been left alone for 2 minutes! Loves Big Chew Nylabones, dog biscuits, drives in the Jeep, visiting friends, doing tricks for treats, snuggling deep under the covers, and cooking his brain by the oil stove!

fireworks and any video playing fireworks; rain; cold winter weather; Delta thrashing around with him.

Favorite Toy:
Nylabone Big Chew and Kongs stuffed with cheeze whiz & biscuits

Favorite Food:
any meat, especially the regurgitated kind (sounds gross, and it is!)

Favorite Walk:
ANYWHERE, anytime

Best Tricks:
Duncan's got speak and turn and roll over down pat

Arrival Story:
On November 13, 2007, Duncan lost a very brief battle with a brain tumor. He would have been 8 years old in less than 2 months (January 1st, 2008). He is missed desperately. :'(

Duncan was very smart! His first command was "release", and learned quickly not to pick up certain items. This command was followed by (in no particular order) sit, down, stay, shake paw, high five, sit pretty, stand high (on hind legs) speak, turn circles, roll over, and a very pathetic "bang" (play dead - it looks more like "okay, I surrender").

Living with a Brain Tumor

Diagnosis - MRI

On Monday, October 15, 2007, I was diagnosed with a brain tumor after 3 weeks of illness. Mama is really sad about this, but I try not to let it bother me!

I'm a bit worried about all the peeing I'm doing in the house, but mama doesn't even give me that "oooh Duncan, what did you do?" tone that she used to say whenever I've done something I shouldn't have done. She says that the medications are making me do this and I can't help myself.

I'm getting a LOT more treats than I've ever got before! Oh boy oh boy oh boy! Mama calls it pill time before she feeds me breakfast and supper, but I don't know what that means... I just know I'm getting a delicious treat that I used to only get when I do tricks for her.

Sometime soon I'll update the three weeks I was sick. I did a lot of traveling to see my doctors (and some I didn't know) during that time, and just didn't feel right.
