Arrival Story:
I got my Katie after I had been living in NYC a month. I knew I would adopt a dog when I moved there but want to settle in a bit first. Katie was found on the streets with a nice gash in her cheek, she was then put in the city pound in isolation for 14 days to see if she had rabbies. Next she went into foster care, was adopted out and returned, back to foster care until I got her when she was around one year old. I went to Social Tees in the East Village(NYC) to look at what dogs needed homes, I went in asked about a few flyers and the guy told me he had the perfect dog for me. He said she was in foster care right down the street, that she was super sweet, and good with other dogs. Ten minutes latter this guy walks in with this tiny, skinny, brindle dog, she looked more like a whippet then pitbull. Even vets we have been to have though she was whippet or young greyhound-plus she can run as fast as any dog she has ever raced. I asked to walk her around the block, her name was Buddy then, she was so skittesh, and frecked out by everthing, her tail looked like it was sewn to her stomach. They asked what I thought, I said yeah she'd be perfect, she seemed sweet and fit the bill. I wanted an older dog, hopefully female, not too big, that would be good with other dogs so that we could go to the dog run and visit my family and two dogs that I left with my mom when I moved to the Big City. And that's how I got my Katie-Baby.
