Pluto was adopted from the SF/SPCA as a 4-month-old pup
Bio:
Several months after adopting Pluto, I ran into a guy in our local park who recognized him. He had two female pits with him, and he said one of them was Pluto's mom. His girlfriend went home and got photos, and sure enough, it was Pluto! The guy had sold the puppies and was very upset that Pluto had ended up on the street. It was good luck for me though, Pluto's an angel.
June 2007 update: Last August (2006) Pluto was diagnosed with bone cancer after a traumatic leg break. His left rear leg was amputated and he endured four rounds of chemo, and is now his bouncy, smiling, indomitably happy self again.
January 2008 update: Sadly Pluto departed the morning of January 30. True to his Pluto-ness, he was happy to the end.
