Arrival Story: Came to the US from Siberia as a young pup & to my home, into a home with border collies and Lena, another caucasian mountain dog, who taught her proper behavior and manners
Bio: Also known as Caucasian Mountain dogs. This breed was developed as livestock guardians in Russia. Type varies according to geographical region. They were brought out of the mountains as used as factory and military guard dogs. With the family, they are great, but not for the rookie dog owner. A characteristic of this breed is the absence of an outer ear flap, which is cropped at a couple days after birth.
