When she Left us

Missy Marie Left us to go see her doggie fanily June 24th@4:00am.
She will be in our hearts forever and never be forgotten for the joy , happinees and love, she brought to everyone who met her.

Rest is peace sweet heart, mommy will always miss you......

Happy Holidays!

I'm back and full of it. I know it has been a long time since we have updated my site, but mommy was busy traveling for work and I hardly got to see her and no one else would dictate for me. My mommy can't figure out how I got older and more energetic! I want Zoso to play all the time and I demand attention constantly. But mom don't care she is just glad that I am not sick anymore. The vet said I am as good as new and all the problems I had were due to that nasty infection I had in my back. Now I have more energy then Zoso and he isn't near as old as me. Mom says it’s cause he is lazy and I'm full of piss and vinegar, whatever that means. All I know is that I am happy and no one better try to ignore me or I will stamp my feet and snap my lips until I am the center of everyones attention, like it is suppose to be. Both me and Zoso wish everyone a happy holiday season and want you to remember those pound puppies! Gotta go! Someone just opened the cookie jar! :)

I will be 11 soon!

I know it has been a long time comming, but Missy is doing great. She can run full speed at the park, chase balls all day long and no stiffness at all the next morning. She has come quite a long way and is doing better then a lot of other 11 year old large breed dogs. She gallops through the house like a little pony and is real quick at fetching and blocking the ball like a hockey player. She is 100 percent fantntastic. Her and Zoso are back to tearing up the house and yard! She is back demanding attention, food and new tennis balls. And what Missy wants, Missy gets! Missy Marie says Hi to all her Pup Pals and thanks for their support. Dogster Dogs and their humans rock! Mom says we get to go somewhere special this weekend for my birthday which is 8/26/1994. I hope it's the beach! I love it there and always get so excited as soon as I smell the fresh beach air. Also, Mom buys me Lemon Cheese cake from Coco's on my birthday every year. I hope she doesn't forget. It's my favorite and I only get a little every year. Mmmm! I will be keeping my toes crossed!

Just an update, As snotty as ever!

Well Missy sure is doing a lot better.6 more weeks of antibiotics, I just picked up her last bottle of 192 Cephalexin caps and after that we should be all good! She has gotten back to doing the snoopy boogie, which is what we call it when she lays on her back and makes her back legs stretch one at a time to scratch her back. Unfortunately allergy season is here again, but luckily both she and I do very well on kirklands version of benedryl. She has decided that I am no longer "allowed" to take her outside and if I even try to pick her up she quickly will lay down and I swear she rolls her eyes at me. lol! She is back to being the princess and and has everyone firmly under her paw. She will even cry like she has to go outside and then when I get up steal my recliner. Man I am such a sucker! But her being the princess and ruler of all just means that she is getting back to almost completely normal. I have to tell her no when she wants to play still, but hopefully her and Zoso will be able to resume their playing soon. :)

Missy is doing great and has the great honor of being doggie- of the day.

Boy what a great way to start the day! 2 weeks ago I wasn't sure if we would still have her. And now she is doing soooo much better and has been nominated doggie of the day! Missy Marie being the diva that she is says she new this day would come eventually, LOL!. Really though we are grateful for Dogster and everyone on here. This is the best forum ever as far as me and Missy Marie are concerned. Love to all the doggies and their humans everywhere!! And Missy wants to send out a woowoo to all her kitty friends too. Silly cat whisperer! She just loves everyone, including the bunny next door!

Getting better all the time!

I have seen a lot of improvement over the last 10 days. She is back to greating people and woo wooing when I get home. She even is showing interest in her tennis balls, but her mommy is trying to make her take it slow. Lucky for me I have great friends who "get it" and help me while I am at work. She is wagging her tail a lot and is spoiled beyond belief and I wouldn't have it any other way. Everyone that she has met through all of this can't believe how sweet she is. I guess its because of the bad rap the breed gets, but she quickly changes their mind. How could you not love the kissy missy! And again, thanks to all for their support and recommendations for places of treatments! I have my baby back and am grateful! The great thing through all this also is that Zoso has known something was wrong and would kiss her face and lay by her a lot, and always went out with her and would wait. He even on several occasions came and told me she needed me to carry her down the stairs to go potty! He is such a good little brother!

GOOD NEWS!!!!!!

I took Missy to the vets on Monday for her MRI and other tests. The conclusion? She has an infection that has caused build up of fluids around her spine one disc heavily. THAT is what is making her lame in her rear legs and is very treatable with antibiotics! She has been on heavy antibiotics since Monday and is already doing better. Now they're tears of joy. No surgery or even worse.... I feel so lucky. Thank you to everyone who expressed concern for her and all the prayers I know helped. Thank you thank you thank you!! Missy was even feeling good enough today to sun herself which she loves to do and hasn't since this started. She is spoiled rotten at this point, but I could care less! Missy sends a big Woo Woo to all her friends :)

Advance Veterinary Specialty group.

Well, with some help from a Dogster user and some research, Missy Marie has an appointment Monday morning at 8:00 am with Advanced Veterinary Specialty group for an MRI. She still has to be carried to do her business and such, but hopefully we will find out what's going on and how to fix it. Poor little girl, all 70 LBs, I feel so sorry for her. But she ain't heavy, she's my baby!

Back issues continued.

I forgot to mention she has an apontment with her regular vet today at 4:00 pm, and also has developed a lump in the side/lower belly area. Seriously, if there is a place anyone could recommend for safe competent help I'll go as far a my liitle car will take me. I'd spend every penny I have to bring her back to where she was 10 days ago! I am already planning on building a ramp into the yard so she can hopefully get there on her own eventually. But I will carry her forever if I have to! And one for the bed, since she looks up there wanting me to lift her up there, but I am afraid she will hurt herself getting down. Thanks to all ahead for any help!
