it was a cloudy, drizzly day...he was hiding under the porch with his last remaining sibling (all the others had already been adopted)...and we fell in love immediately

he picked his own name!
Jelly is from Baltimore, sailed the intra-coastal waterway to the Keys, relocated to Miami, then Tallahassee, now we're in Atlanta!
He loves being back in the city -- all the attention -- all the smells!
Below is his foster girlfriend Bailey, who now lives with a lovely family in Charlotte. They look like cousins! Below her is Madison, his most recent foster-girlfriend who now happily lives with a family in Atlanta.
In August, 2005, Jelly was diagnosed with bladder cancer. We immediately started him on a prescription (piroxicam) as well as a variety of herbs and vitamins (as suggested on the UF veterinary website). In December 2005, his tumor had shrunk! and we think his cancer battle is over!!
January 2006: Jelly has been limping for about a week, which he has done before. We took him to the vet for an xray and he agreed it might be a sprain (with some very remote reservations).
Mid-Jan, 2006: well, it's not a sprain, but bone cancer...ugh. Completely unrelated to the bladder cancer. And, not a good prognosis.
Jelly passed away February 20, 2006. Rest in peace my sweet. You are dearly missed.
