Arrival Story: I adopted lady 10 years ago, from the shelter I later became director of. Lady was abused, and it took a year for her to come out of hiding (under kitchen table) and be social and feel safe. She was very scared of men, for at least the first few years, and had no confidence, and was very very shy. It took a lot of time, love and patience to turn Lady into a dog. She is to this day DEATHLY afraid of water, to the point of needing sedation for trips to the groomer. She will NOT go outside in the rain, she would rather hold it.....for days if need be. Lady is the most wonderful and loyal dog a person could ever have. The years are gaining on her, and she is now about 12. She has arthritis, and her liver is a bit damaged. She is still happy, and we are keepingher comfortable. She is a trooper as far as meds go, she is happy to get them and they help her so much! I know Lady won't be with me forever, but she will always be TOP DOG and the queen of my heart. I thank her for teaching me all she has, and for allof the love she has given me. I love you Lady!

Forums Motto: Lady.....stop barking please!!!!

Not a day goes by that I don't think of you. I am so blessed to have had you in my life. You taught me so much about life, love and even loss. It's been over a year now, and it still doesn't seem real, I'm glad I have all of your pictures and the local magazine article about us. You look so elegant in the photos, such a beautiful girl! There are no words to express the depth of your loss. I will always love you, you are still my queen and "top dog"!
