Arrival Story:
We saw Jackson's photo on the San Francisco Animal Care and Control Web site and went to meet him. By that time, the SPCA had adopted him, so we went there and met him. Jackson was friendly and cuddly from the start, and after going back to see him a few more times to make sure he was right for us, we adopted him. (We think that Jackson came from a retriever or Lab rescue organization in Southern California and that his original owner had to give him up for health reasons.)

Bio:
Jackson's great around people but not-so-great around other dogs -- we think he wasn't well-socialized as a pup and/or was traumatized by other dogs (he has several scars of unknown origin). We're working hard to ease his anxiety while he's out in the world and around other dogs. We've been lucky to be able to work with a number of great people on his issues, and he's doing better every day. He's getting to be a real Zen master. Jackson's a real love.
