 Quick Bio:
 Birthday: March 1st 1999
Likes: Our company, the Greta Scrambler, water, water hoses, running, barking and generally all that happy dog stuff.

Pet-Peeves: Cats!! He's not fond of Rex, either, who is mean to him. Anyone touching his collar or his tail. Walking on a leash. The Halti-Collar.

Favorite Toy: The Greta Scrambler (aka "The Egg")

Favorite Food: He's not too food motivated. Prefers cooked people food to dog food.

Favorite Walk: Anywhere! He just loves going places, seeing things and doing stuff. I think if he could have his wish, though, we'd walk on a beach everyday.

Best Tricks: Sit, Stay and Down

Arrival Story: We adopted Max from a border collie/aussie rescue group in western Oregon the day after Christmas, 1999. He was just about 10 months old and had spent his life 'til that time as a dumped stray puppy, then adopted by the people who found him into their home with their toddler. His high energy was neither appropriate nor appreciated in that setting, so they took him to the Oregon Humane Society, who then turned him over to bc/aussie rescue. He is one of the prettiest dogs I've ever seen, and his happy, playful, energetic personality stole our hearts from the moment we laid eyes on him.

Bio: Max is a sweet, happy, loving dog who loves to play with toys and dogs, and whose greatest joy in life is just being a velcro dog, stuck right to the people he loves. You can see more of him at www.CollieCapers.com. UPDATE: Max is a WINNER!! He won a photo contest on 7/25/04, and the prize is a one-of-a-kind needle-felted likeness of him in miniature, created by Barlee Rumburg of Fog City Dogs in San Francisco. Barlee is an extremely talented (and likeable!) artist whose needle-felted animal sculptures are in great demand. We are very proud of our sweet Maxie.

Hello! This is my first entry. I'm not much of a writer, you see. I'm a lover :-). I love my family--the humans and the canines. I love playing with The Egg and catching Frisbees and chasing balls and cats and squirrels. I love swimming in the ocean and hiking the Cascades and riding in the Jeep to any place my people want to take me. I love just about everything and everybody. And I really, REALLY love being chosen Dog of the Week! Thank you, Ms. Molly Golightly :-). Mom and Dad are so excited and happy for me that they said I get to go out with them tonight and get a brand new present just for me! I wonder if I can talk them into taking me out in Mom's '64 1/2 Mustang? *grins* Life is good :-). I'd best get back to living--and enjoying--it!
Love and Licks,
Maxie
