 Quick Bio:
 Birthday: August 8th 1998
Likes: Cuddling with Mom and his big sister, Charleigh

Pet-Peeves: The little guys playing with noisy chew toys

Favorite Toy: Anything edible

Favorite Food: Liver treats

Favorite Walk: The park with the big creek

Best Tricks: He takes noisy chew toys out into the yard and buries them

Arrival Story: He was part of an unwanted litter, and very shy. My then-7 year old Golden, Sara, was ready for a brother so we brought him home. She was a wonderful dog and he adored her and copied everything she did. (She did always take his treats, so he learned early to hide his somewhere too small for her to fit into, then he would ask for another. When she took that one he knew he had one hidden. This skill he turned into hiding the other dogs noisy chew toys.) He stayed under the bed for a week when Sara died in 2003.

Bio: Baxter is a very nurturing and protective dog with his brother and sisters. He is not confrontational except when another dog seems to be picking on them. He also is a great "nurse" and cleans everyone's ears and kisses their booboos. A couple of times I found a wound or bad tooth that I wouldn't have noticed so early if he had not been "taking care" of it! And he has been very patient with foster dogs and other rescues who have come to us.

My Baxter died in February 2007, peacefully, of pancreatic cancer. I miss him every day.
