And it looks like we are seeing a difference! Hurray! I don't think AB is ever going to be allergy free, but so far, she is a LOT better than what she was before starting the raw diet. As part of her allergy problem, she also has yeast infections on her body. Her ears, feet and stomach, to be exact. I started putting ointment for, ahem, a woman's yeast infection, on her irritated spots (only when I am present, so that she doesn't lick it off) and it's gone away! Yeast infections on the skin/feet show up as a rusty discoloration on the nails, and a "dirty" rust color on the skin.
I know that I won't ever go back to feeding AB kibble again. And if (when?) I get a second dog, they are going on the raw diet too.

It's been a week since AB has been on the raw diet. I am her new best friend! She wags her tail while she eats her chicken wing and licks up her veggie "glob"! I'm hoping it helps her horrible skin allergies. I broke down and took her to a dermatologist, who put her on steroids. I ended up putting her on the steroids, just so she could have a break from the scratching, licking and itching. Once this round of steroids are over with, I plan on continuing the raw food, in hopes that it makes a difference in her skin quality. If it doesn't work, I'm not sure what I am going to do! I refuse to leave her on steroids or give her allergy shots, especially if I can solve this problem naturally. We'll see. Wish us luck!
