She was friendly but clearly looking/waiting for someone. She was still there an hour later when I got out of class, and by this time it was getting dark. Two women were offering her food and water, and they said Winnie had been there since early afternoon. My conclusion: someone had dumped her, and the poor girl had been waiting in the same place for hours for that someone to come back. I didn't want her to get hit by a car at night so I took her home. It was supposed to be temporary because we already had three dachshunds, but I was completely smitten. No one responded to my "found dog" signs, no one posted a "lost dog" notice that fit her, so Winnie became my dog. I am so grateful she entered my life. Forums Motto: Pet me!
