Arrival Story:
we were helping my dad work on his house when a neighbor came over with this teeny little puppy and said she couldn't keep it and did we want a dog. My hubby lost his heart to her the first second he laid eyes on her.
Bio:
We lost Pea this past Monday to cancer. It was a fast spreading hemangiosarcoma that invaded her liver and spleen and damaged them irreparably in the last two months' time. She just got out of the hospital in August and was doing great. When we went in Monday to the vet, it turned out that the cancer had almost destroyed her liver and spleen, tumors had burst and she was bleeding into her abdomen. She had less than 24 hours and the vet recommended painless euthanasia. After many many MANY tears and broken hearts, we agreed. Daddy held her head and Mommy knelt over her while she took her last breaths. Our hearts are hollow now, and our house is empty. Even the cats are lost. Pea is the Queen of the Universe and Ruler of Daddy's Heart. She is our kid, along with her kitty-siblings.
