WooHoo Diary of the Day Pick!April 2nd 2006 5:13 pm[ Leave A Comment ]
Thanks to all my friends who congratulated me on being Dogster Diary of the Day Pick. I rushed to the main site to make sure it was true and not a late April Fool's Joke. Seems legit... This is just my first step toward a Pulitzer Prize.
Fun DayApril 1st 2006 8:56 pm[ Leave A Comment ] The weather was so nice, the humans stayed outside a long time with Moke and me today. I heard them talking about warm weather and mosquitos, fleas and ticks. Then the woman said she better give us our pills so we won't get heartworm, hookworm, or other nasty parasites.
Celebrating German Shepherd DogsMarch 30th 2006 5:52 pm[ Leave A Comment ] Dogster is celebrating German Shepherd Dogs this week. I wonder if Mokey is going to throw a party for me? OOOH, I bet she is. I bet it will be a SURPRISE party for me. I can hardly wait. Think I'll go look and see if she has a present hidden for me.
New SkillMarch 28th 2006 9:37 am[ Leave A Comment ] Yesterday I learned a new skill-opening the gate. It was such a nice day to be outside. Mokey and I watched humans and canines passing by. I barked greetings to all, but no one stopped to chat. Then I got excited and jumped up on the gate and sort of pushed and it came open! Hooray, I could go for a stroll! I invited Mokey to come, but she said, "No thanks." I trotted out the gate and started on the path I usually take with one of my humans. I was in the middle of marking a tree when I heard a familiar voice say, "Hey, Ax, hop in, Buddy." It was my human brother passing by in his car. I didn't have to be asked twice, I hopped in and was driven back home in style. As we entered the driveway, I saw the woman and Mokey starting out on my original stroll path. Mokey was peeing exactly where I had pee'd the first time. What a coincidence. I could not write this yesterday because for some reason the woman seemed on edge and went out and locked me in my cage. Later when Mokey and I went outside again, I seemed to have lost my gate opening skill. I jumped and jumped, but the gate would not open. I'll definitely try again today.
Yes there is a ProblemMarch 26th 2006 5:33 pm[ Leave A Comment ] Yes, Dogster, there IS still a problem. The woman tried to give me a bone and it didn''t work. Hey, I want my bone. I wanted to write to the Webmeister but the woman said, "Give them time to get everything fixed, Axel. Let's not bother them with such a trivial problem." She might think it's trivial. She's not the one who's supply of bones is getting lower and lower. I'm starting to get worried. I might starve to death.
dog shows, titles, and letters, oh myMarch 18th 2006 5:55 pm[ Leave A Comment ] Professor Pepper talked to us about dog shows and titles and letters after our names. It suddenly occurred to me that since I've already taken Basic Obedience twice, I am now "Axel von Doppelbach, B.O, B.O." Wow, doesn't that sound impressive?
Abandoned at ClassMarch 15th 2006 5:50 pm[ Leave A Comment ]
It happened last Saturday, but I'm just now able to write about it. Mom and Dad both went to class with me. When we entered class Dad told Professor Pepper that he was going to let mom do the training since he hadn't done so well with me last week. (What, I thought he did fine!) Mom was surprised and said, "You're kiiding?" But he wasn't and she took me into the ring and he sat down on a chair. Professor Pepper told him I might be distracted by his being there. Well, I did look at him and then when we were walking around the ring I decided to poke my head through the gate when we passed dad. Then he got up and I saw him walk towards the door. "Hey, Wait a minute," I woofed, "You are the one who is supposed to be in this ring with me. You've done this every other week we've been here." The other dogs started woofing along with me. Then Professor Pepper said, "Axel, what's wrong with you today?" "What's wrong?" I woofed, "Why do you even have to ask? My dad has just abandoned me and my mom does not belong is this ring with me?" After class, dad came back in and asked, "How'd it go?" Mom said,"We
Laundry DayMarch 7th 2006 4:58 pm[ Leave A Comment ] I love laundry day. First of all, aromatic clothes are strewn in piles over the floor. Mokey and I choose our spots and bask in the aroma. She prefers dirty socks and underwear. My favorite is damp towels and wash cloths. I'm always a little sad when we're ousted from our spots. But the fun does not stop after the clothes are washed. Baskets of clean laundry often contain a treasure hidden in the middle-Dryer Sheets! UMMMM. I love chewing on Dryer Sheets. The humans always take them away from me. I'm not sure why. I keep watching, but I don't see them chewing them. The only thing they ever do is throw them in the round container where they throw lots of good things. Then the container is taken outside and twice a week taken to the curb where the men in the big noisy truck stop and take the treasures away. I bark when I see them do that. "Hey, bring those treasures back." One of these days I'm going to get to that treasure container before they take it away. Then I'll really have some fun.
Bottom third?February 27th 2006 6:09 pm[ Leave A Comment ] The man human told the woman human that in his estimation, I am at the bottom third of my new Advanced Basic obedience class. I just didn't want to be a showoff my first day. I was afraid the teacher was going to give me my certificate right away and Mokey would be so envious!
I Will NOT Let Them Return It!February 23rd 2006 3:02 pm[ Leave A Comment ] The man human said he's going to return my obedience certificate because I don't deserve it! He took me, just me with no Mokey, to see Granny. He got bent out of shape because when he opened the car door, I sprinted out of the door and trotted across the parking lot. I tried to have a nice game of "keep away" with him while he commanded, "Axel, come." Finally he just turned and walked away. I said, "Hey, wait for me" and ran up to him. He picked up my leash and took me into the building. When Granny opened the door I barked a greeting at her and when the man said, Axel, quiet," I thought he had made a mistake, so I kept barking. There was too much to investigate in Granny's apartment so I would not sit or lie down. After our visit I said Hello to a lady entering another building. She said, "I hope that dog doesn't get loose. You know dogs are not allowed in this apartment complex." Hmmm, Mokey comes here a lot and no one has ever said anything like that to her! I continued to speak to the woman after she entered her apartment, but she did not come back out. I also spoke to a pizza delivery guy who left the sidewalk and cut across the grass. I guess he was not allowed to talk while on duty, because he did not say anything to me. After we got home, the man told the woman, "I think we should take his obedience certificate back. I don't think he's ready for advanced obedience class." The woman AGREED with him! She even wondered if we could get our money back before classes begin! One of the boys came in then and said, "Hey, how're you doing, Bud," and leaned down to pet me. I gave him a big kiss and was glad at least one person in this family is not mad at me. I'm going to get that certificate tonight after they go to bed and chew it up for safe keeping. No way are they taking it back!
