Arrival Story:
I used to have a job... I was a racer for 3 years. I travelled a bit, to Florida and Arizona and finally to Oregon. When it was time to retire I hung around for awhile with a bunch of my tribe, but really needed a more comfortable place to sleep, so I met this human family and I was so cute they couldn't resist me. Now I sleep on their beds, their couches and their chairs. They take me to the park 3 times a day and all my friends are there -- I get to see Chuck and Bacchus (he's my "special" friend - wink, wink) and Lacey and Danny and Butterfly and Buzz and Sophie. Sometimes I see Titan, but I quickly run to another part of the park because he annoys me. The "treat lady" is there and gives me a treat every day. Sometimes I even get to go visit my stepmom, Liz! She always takes me on long walks and feeds me things my regular family doesn't and takes me to see my friend Freckles... All in all my life is good! Now if I could just figure out how to get rid of those cats, life would be perfect!

Bio:
I totally dig riding in the car -- I especially like to whine really loud the whole time we're in there! I love running as fast as I can (which is really fast) at the park. Sometimes I run into other dogs or trees and stuff and do things like rip my toenails off -- but I'm so pumped up on the adrenaline that I don't even notice until I get home and track blood all over the carpet! (that's when the humans say my head is empty). One time I got into a little scrap with another dog at the park and he knocked my canine tooth out so now sometimes my lip gets caught on the other tooth and I look really fierce (or silly, I'm not sure which). I don't like it when the humans try to make me hurry at the park -- don't they know I have to sniff every tree and bush and clump of grass to find the absolute perfect place to do my business?!?! Geez, sometimes they are so pushy! Christmas 2007 update -- Nick succumbed to bone cancer a few months ago... I didn't have the heart to even post it until now. The whole thing happened so fast, he was on our bed in the morning, then by noon that day after a traumatic injury, we learned his body was riddled with bone cancer and we were with him as we let him leave his pain behind and move on to his next incarnation of being. No dog can ever replace him in our hearts... and we'll never love another one quite the same way we loved him (but isn't that really the essence of "dog magic"?).
