Arrival Story:
I adopted Baxter from a shelter last summer. In June, it will be one year. I initially found him on, read his sad life story, saw a picture of his precious furry face and had to have him! He was three at the time, and had been at the shelter for two years. Evidently, the first year of his life he was severely abused by his male owner. The shelter invested a lot of medical attention, energy, time and love into Baxter over those two years, to get him to a point where adoption was an option. When I met him, I knew it was love at first site and haven’t looked back ever since. I honestly can’t imagine my life without the guy. In the last year, he’s made TONS of progress. He actually doesn’t get frightened around men (most men) anymore…which is the biggest step. He’s learned that he can trust me with his whole heart – that I’ll never, ever hurt him and am devoted to spoiling him rotten. In return, I have a faithful companion at my side.

Baxter, Jackson, Noah and I live in Omaha, Nebraska.
