My Special Day: Remember, Remember, the 5th of November!

Right now I'm sacked out from all the fun I've had today on my birthday; but, I scribbled some notes to share on my diary to all my Dogster friends how my day went...so without ado, hit it Mom!
-----------------

The sun was just peaking through the trees and Mom rolled out of bed this morning, why? I don't know; but, with a kiss on the head and a stroll outside on the dewy grass on the mystical foggy morning: it was like a dream!

Chloe & I pattered our red clay filled paws onto the kitchen floor as Mom started up her day. I curled below at her feet as she typed up preparations for my birthday later that day.

Before I knew it she gathered her shoes & Chloe brought her leash & I jumped straight up in the air in excitement as it seemed we were going on a trip. After being on the road for a short while it was Petsmart! We strolled in and...it was the groomers. How disappointing. Both of our nails were grinded down, but before we left I had a new toy! Sure, I've had Kongs before, but this one softer for my gentle gums & teeth so I obliged,...there'll be treats in there someday!

In fact, I was wondering why when we returned she didn't give it to me. But before I knew it we were off in the truck again! This time we drove in the opposite direction and a girl and dog were waiting for us in a different house. Mom tied our leashes to something in the truck as she greeted the strangers. She then opened the back latch and in came the pup, (I say pup because he had to be less than 10 pounds but definitely not a young one!). We all sniffed noses, the lady said goodbye...and now there was a strange dog with us?

Well, not even 5 minutes after the new dog joined our cab ride he slipped out of his leash, (which was also tied to something else in the car so we wouldn't do who knows what), and into Mom's lap as she was driving! Oh no! She drove into a parking lot and placed him back in his spot.

When she rolled out there wasn't more than seconds away from the next "incident"...for it was a stinky one. I was shocked and couldn't say a thing, but Mom started asking something along the lines of: "That isn't what I think that is?!" and Chloe turned on her pitiful eyes as if she was disturbed that such a thing happened but would do anything for it not to be blamed on her.

Oh no, Mom knew the culprit. That stinker was quickly let out, as he was LUCKY to have done it on a Wal-Mart bag...so, we were littering today for the sake of vomiting from the smell.

Finally, we made our way to Pioneer Park and all was becoming famliar. Mom let both of us out, then "The Stinker", and a car pulled up. It was Sebastian. About 30 minutes later when the other party guest didn't arrive we took pictures & dove into the cake.

Some of the parents encouraged play and...there rolled up the last guest! We welcomed him, he grouched at us...but all in all we were there for over an hour it felt like. But we played this way, ran that way, and jumped up like wild ponies at each other as we played.

We then returned "The Stinker", which really hit it off with a Boston Terrier guest, playing this way & that. And then Mom picked up something to go for her, we went for our daily walk...and now I'm here - exhausted, but ultimately satisfied.

Look what the breeze brought in!

Ya know, more often than not I'm asked about how how I must feel with all that hair. Yep, it's sure the topic of discussion when I meet someone new. Well, there couldn't of been a better time for a cool breeze to blow in to let us feel autumn amongst us! It was gorgeous 70ish temp outside, with not a cloud in the sky! Mom decided to work on my halloween outfit today outside as Chloe ran forever after a tennis ball. I feel life is better when you view it from the porch some days, and with a cool day like this, I could nap all day. Wait, if I get a chance - I will!

Ya know, I'm so proud of how routine we've been with our walks. Moreso, I'm more flattered on what we're starting to hear when we run across some "regulars" on our walks. We always pass by the football field on our route, and on the same day, only a few paces from each other, two different women commented in a row! "There goes those pretty dogs!" said one lady with a wink, then the lady after her: "Oh! I'll take the black & white one!" ME! I put a little extra bounce in my step after that last comment!

Speaking of, a bounce in my step could have been caused by a whole different situation based on the-day-before-yesterday's occurance. When Mom let us out in the morning I heard the scurry of a squirrel up a tree. Seeing that not many people were out, Mom let us run as fast as we could to that tree. Oh we barked & barked - it was great...until I hobbled back to the porch. Mom quickly felt me up & kept checking on me all day, & I kept having a certain hop. Mom called the vet, set up an appointment, and then I stayed home for the first time in almost 2 weeks straight of our walks!

The next day, (yesterday), I woke up playful. I played as hard as my feet could take me all over the house. I chased even a different squirrel up a closer tree, and not a hop in sight. About 8 hrs went by & Mom didn't see anything to be worried about, so canceled my appointment. That evening, on our walk, a little old lady with a Boston Terrier saw us & said to her dog: "Oh look! There's your little friends!" We smelled noses & kept on our way.

Cheers to my favorite season! :)

Things are taking a turn soon!

I hope you like my picture showing off my pearly whites! Towards the end of August Mom made an appointment for me to get my teeth professionally clean & I will say so myself that there's no more stinkiness!

Mom still persists and brushes my teeth though, but oh well, we want to keep'em that way she says. There has been a lot of travels in my last month, including visiting family and just traveling to the big city. Mom says that's where we'll be there soon & honestly I think it's kind of scary!

Mom's also been making sure we get our walks in on a more better schedule now that she's graduated from that silly school. Ok, maybe I kind of miss that she's not in school anymore because I used to love being her study buddy with her late at nights.

July : New family and a new treatment?

What can I say? A dog with as much has as me shouldn't know what Texas heat is...I guess that's my Ohioian roots for ya ;) This month couldn't have gone by faster, partly because my Mom has been in & out so sporatically because school is coming to a close for her. What is it about school? I mean, when she comes in I jump up high & give her the best welcome I can muster, but even while she's home she always has some kind of school supply out. Thankfully I'm always at her side, (unlike the kitty who when TOO excited needed to be kept in the other room with Daddy).

Oh ya, we do have a new kitten that joined here this month. Before this month if I'd ever see a cat even in eye view I'd have a ton to say about it. Pulling & barking, and even chasing if we were out for a quick potty break were the name of the game. Now this little one really was small though at the beginning, and as fearless as he is when I first caught eye of him he was behind the couch in no time. Now things have changed. This kitten has received a lick or two from time to time and life is back to normal. Well, abnormal in the way that while prancing through Petsmart rescued cats don't even get a sniff from me and while at the vet I give the cats the same view as I would any dog - it's a complete 180. For a more exciting view on the subject, I'm sure Chloe's diary is the way to go.

Speaking of the vet, as the month came to a close I received my well deserved bath and a few days later I joined mom to go visit him. Well, it was sort of inpromtu, but flea medicine was in order that's for sure, (which I have to admit is pretty stinky - this Advantage has a smell that I'm not used to...but with tick populations on the dl and our new cat around I guess that's the only way to go). So we get there and she has a million questions, which I don't mind other than the surprise weigh in and 5 other patients with much worse situations than mine. Mom was patient and let the others be triaged as needed and once the dust had cleared she placed me on the secretary's table to talk about my teeth. It always comes down to that I guess, but I even heard something about a new shot for teeth now and of course that brought a perk to my ears.

Other than that, our nightly walks are always a hit and soon I hear we'll be having company. I'm sure there'll be a ton more to write on too.

June - A Reminder Why the Best Moments in Life are Held beneath Our- Roof!

Ahh, the last day of June and Mom finally had a restful day...and we both got to share some yougart today together too! I've really been SO affectionate lately and Mom loves that SO much. I remember one walk when Mom was crying from being so stressed out this month and her and I took a quiet walk together. It was nice to not have silly Chloe pulling this way and having Mom respond to her every single time. Nope, just two souls enjoying each others company in the silence that our little park brings. Oh, there's birds chirping, and I even saw a squirrel yesterday that I gave more barks than a little, but it's time like these when there's no swiping that smile from my face.

Mom tried to have a special weekend dedicated to us this month, Operation Kindness's Dog Day Afternoon but that went down the drain fast. I showed Mom my best patience skills as she worked on making me Aladin, (with a red hat & all that I wore like a pro!), only to be stopped by a cop and made late to every event she wanted to participate in. Honestly, I was so hot that even walking to the small amount of tents we did visit was like walking on hot coals! Haha, I don't overexaggerate too much, after taking our picture, (and refusing to eat a Frosty Paws), I played my best donkey impression & wouldn't even budge!

All & all, I don't see the big deal about going out & doing something, just holding me and watching t.v. is the best thing in the world to me!

I was tagged from Dutchess so of course I'll keep the game going! Join in!
~*~
Here are the rules:

Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Dogs who are tagged, need to post in their Diary the rules & their 7 pawsome facts. Then choose 7 dogs to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to bark them a pmail that they have been tagged and to read your Diary, or, send them a fun Rosette announcing they've been Tagged! I've chosen the Rosette route this round. Check it out for an example. Got it? GOOD!
~*~
Okay now fur those pawsome facts about me, Oreo!

1. I was born November 5, 2001 in Carroll, Ohio.

2. I don't have a AKC registered name!

3. I like to let the barking work for me when I play chase with Chloe. After a few rings around the tree I'll plop down & bark until she comes & get's me.

4. I don't play well with other dogs - but am always happy to meet a new face on our walks.

5. I'm most likely to let out a short, but loud, BARK, (that sounds like BOP!), in the middle of the night - making my parents jump 10 feet in the air.

6. When I hear it's "Time to EAT" I'll prance in a circle & jump straight in the air in excitement!

7. I taught Chloe how to wiggle her nose to get the most out of any scent!

I pass this game down to:

1. Bubbles Baby

2. Rajah Q.

3. Romeo

4. Clover

5. Yukiko

6. Sadie

7. Josie Pie

April & Beginning of May

April went by SO quickly! Maybe I just slept it away without even realizing it? I don't think I could help it much, for nothing makes my heart sing like our daily walks or just relaxing on the porch surrounded by Momma's flowers and a warm rub behind the ears as we enjoy each other's company.

April meant Easter too, which there was one occassion when I put my nose into momma's easter basket...as if I'd know what laid within! Thankfully, no bunny ears like last year! This months means a lot of visits from the family, and an extra hug or rub from anybody is worth mentioning. I'm scratching my noggin about Mother's day lately, for what else could I do differently than what I normally do? I love my mom everyday, by following every step she makes around the house, always snuggling while she studied or when we relaxed together , or pranced on our favorite walk together -I think I show my Mom how much I love her everyday!

All about March!

So March has come & gone, but I'll never forget all the memories I experienced!

It all started out with SPRING BREAK! What do you think of when that thought comes in your mind? Actually, considering last year it was just a getaway with the family, I figured the same...we're in the car going somewhere nevertheless. But this time we joined new people, quite a few people, in a cabin for a pawful of days. I do what I do best...relax and sleep. With the Boston Terrier always having his food out I also am the sneakest of the sneakers of getting in a bite. I enjoyed walks along the hill country and even cuddled up to a tall man who kept me company when my parent's weren't spending all their time on me.

We've been taking daily walks every evening much more consistantly since the weather has been gorgeous! We even see rabbits on our walks now! Nothing gets me rowled up like seeing a big hop on the side of the trail! Up until the last week the month was FULL of yellow poof from all the flowers, it was everywhere & my underside was full of just about every seed this side of the red river. With all this and our trip, I was first to get a bath. It wasn't all that bad, infact you can see a fun picture of me prancing afterwards in my profile. I was cracked up when Mom even broke the doggie hairdryer, it came back to life before Chloe finished her bath...to her dismay!

Just as the month came to an end was Greek Week. Ok, not every pup has a sorority girl Mom but I eat it up! All the attention, from so many girls, it's true I smile from ear to ear! On top of it, Dad helped Mom by tying ribbons together for Mom's cardboard signs on either side of me for the flag football game. Sure, I may have been called a girl all day but I LOVED all the flashes from cameras and cuddles! Now everybody asks for me on a regular basis...an instant celebrity I tell ya!

Psst,...it doesn't hurt that I'm in the best shape of my life either!
PPS: I also took my first trip to Lousiana too!

Oreo's break for it...

Normally Oreo would be the author of his own diary but by *Intervension* Momma put her foot down & wants to step in.

Today- Oreo tried to make a run for it. I was gone since daybreak at a college field trip and my fiance did things like normally for our household: to take the dogs out to use the bathroom Chloe goes to the right and Oreo goes to your left and both do it once you instruct them to by word and/or pointing. Imagine an old school police officer directing traffic. We have our landlord working on a house nearby that Chloe doesn't particularly like to not put her two barks in about so Zach was paying more attention to her that she not act up. In the meantime, Oreo has been inching closer and closer to the house, out of view, to the left side lately. He didn't come when called and Zach explored the yard up & down. Finally he got in his car and started exploring the neighborhood. Oreo was found on the street parellel to the one we're on in the center of the block's house wandering through the bushes of their frontyard.

It's been a beautiful weekend lately so everyday we've been having the windows open to enjoy the breeze and give the house a clean change of air considering I got sick on Friday. Oreo was found stretching his body towards the window sill trying to escape again. Same day. Not long after his first attempt.

I am really saddened in him. Sure, he may have wanted to go find me because I left so early and was gone for much of the day, but I never could understand dogs running away. I thought the only dogs that ran away were those that were abused in some sort of way, or those that never get to go out in the world and explore & get exercise.

When I returned he bounced straight up in the air to greet me happily and we spent some time cuddling on the couch like normal. He rubbed up against me like he does when I think is the equivilant of: "OMG I love you so much". Either way deep inside I'm disappointed, and it's also a bit of realization that our trust is broken.

I'm Bark-a-licious

Well life at the house is a lot different than the 3 groups of stairs & windy beach days that's for sure. Today we all went for almost an hour walk it seems, (oh don't worry...we've been going for shorter walks this whole time but today Mom sure didn't hold anything back!). Instead of walking along trails through woods entirely Mom tried the sidewalk kind of life & it was ok...up until the point we were walking along & Mom stepped on a manhole & it startled me! Since then I make it every appoint to walk around the manholes even if they're in the center of the sidewalk. Oh, Chloe got scared once too! Just as we were going from one enterance to a side street to another just as we hit the other side a loud truck went down the street- Chloe scooted her butt up like her tail was going to be chopped off & even ran into me...and even made Mom jump!

Chloe seems to know her way around these parts more so than me, but I kept up the whole time like a good boy & I think Mom was proud of me...she took pictures when we returned for a new picture for my profile- like it?

Oh, my title is what it is...because, we have some other neighbors that I don't really know yet but I like to have conversations with...anytime. There's these two labs across the street that normally bark from behind a fence, to our left are what looks like schnauzer kind of dogs that bark from behind their main window as we make our way home after every walk, and I've seen two other sets of dogs...um, a Bengi mix kind of dog and lab mix together...then a Brittany and Weimeriner going for a walk today just as we were finishing ours. There's so much to talk about!
