Arrival Story:
Sam came to us from Mid Atlantic Samoyed Rescue. He had been abandoned by his family in New Jersey due to having been hit by a car. He does have difficulty walking and doing a lot of the normal things dogs like to do. When he walks on a slick surface he tends to flop on his belly and has to be picked up by hand. Despite is lack of activity and mobility, Sam has a heart of gold - he genuinely wants to please but still wants to protect himself from the abuse his former family imposed, for instance, leaving him outdoors exclusively. Now understand, it is very apparent Sam was well trained in every aspect in his early years. However, it is evident that the former family began to shun him which has caused feelings of insecurity. Even with all of Sam's life experience it is amazing how the traits of love and desire to please that are characteristic of Samoyeds shines through when it comes to Sam. He is a good example of the axiom "No matter how poorly you treat someone, their goodness and love remains steadfast".
