play ball, stalk and give kisses, runs through our gardens and down the lawn like its his own personal racetrack
balloons seem to scare him: goes nuts at the sight of our reel lawn mower!
squeeky ball, peanut butter filled bones
down to the dead-end on East 57th St and Sutton Place where he can scare the pigeons
can give "high fives" from either left or right paws.
In August of '03 we had to put our chocolate Lab down at age 14. We actively debated about our next dog. To rescue or not? What breed, etc.We rescued Alex the day after Xmas. He was apparently abandoned and left behind in a vacant house in Mansfield,Ohio. He was taken to the local Humane Society who then alerted a rescue group to his plight. They felt he was an incredible dog who needed a break. They called him Scruggs at the time! We found this group on the internet and after an investigation and check of references we visited them and the dog. We fell in love and took Alex home. We are working with Alex on training and have gotten into clicker training with him. He has adjusted fabulously and it feels like he has been a member of our family for years.
Alex is a very handsome fellow. He face and coat texture is that of an Italian Spinone and most likely has wirehaired griffon, terrier and lab in him. Coat is wirey and coarse. He is very intelligent and can be a bit stubborn. He is tall and long... a skinny guy, all black with a white tuft on his chest. Everyone stops and wants to say hi to him. He is a young devil..always wanting to play and give kisses.
Alex, like his Dad is a Rutgers Alum and Fan. Go RU!
