Finally she decided when he was 7 months old she didn't have time for a dog and took him to the pound. Russell Rescue stepped in and got him out of the pound. I was looking for another JRT to do agility with and checked with Russell Rescue for a young JRT, saw Petey's picture and contacted them. Within a week, at 8 months old Petey came home to join the other two Jacks Beanie and Maddie! Bio: Petey has been training in agility since he was 11 months old. He is a natural athelete, but has had a lot of issues to overcome. First of all being a JRT and then adding in that he is a rescue dog - we have had to over come dog aggression, terrier hard headiness, terrier - but, I want to go hunt now, oh it's so much more fun to do it my way, etc... But Petey is doing quite well in his agility training and by next year I suspect he will really start racking up the Q's. He's extremely fast and very smart and really loves to play the game. Wow, I'm really glad that mom made that agility practice ring for me. Cause now my friends come over alot. Thursday's is the night when a bunch of my friends come over to practice agility with me. Last Thursday Cookie (my girlfriend), Zeus, Xena, and Cash all came over to practice. It was alot of fun!!! Zeus, and Cookie are JRT's also and Xena and Cash are Shelties. The moms set up different courses and we all took turns playing! It took me a while to settle down and really listen to mom for agility but then I did really good. Zeus was being a little wild on the courses too, but that's typical Zeus, he is so funny! We all have a agility trial Labor day weekend, so mom says we have to practice alot this week. I love agility trials, I get to play all day with my mom and see alot of my friends!
My mom is the greatest! First of all for adopting me. In my old life I used to live in my crate alot. Now with my good mom (who by the way I am staying with forever) I get to live the best life. I get to play this really neat game called agility. I play it with my mom. We have alot of friends that play it too! It's alot of fun! I get to jump, run, climb, go in tunnels, jump through tires, weave through poles, go on teeter totters, run, and run. And my mom runs around with me and I do what ever of those things she wants me to do. Sometimes I'm not sure which one she wants so I just run around or pick which ever one I like, usually tunnels.
Every week she takes me in the car to school to play agility where we see some of our friends and my girl friend Cookie. Cookie is a Jack Russell too.
And then last week my mom made a whole new agility practice ring in our big backyard. She made it look just like the ones at a trial. She said that would help us get even better playing agility. I think my mom likes to play agility as much as I do. She is always so happy when we're playing agility. So am I, cause I get alot of good treats and my mom tells me that I'm such a good boy and she plays tug with me and throws my frisbee and rolls me on the ground and gives me a good boy belly rub! So then I give my mom lots of kisses cause I really love her alot!
