Last week I had my fifth birthday - we had a party for me and Wilson on Saturday at Wilson's house. It was the best time ever! On Saturday morning Mom made me go to the Groomers. Grooming = yuck. Those people are always nice to me but still, I don't like going there. But when Mom picked me up, she said she could tell I felt better because "the spring was back in my step". Whatever, Mom says weird things sometimes.
After a much needed long nap, Mom called me to get dressed for the party. I hate wearing clothes. But I look sooo cute in my Woof jacket that I gave into Mom and wore it anyway. Olive and Sasha got dressed too, and we got in the CAR! To go to Wilson's! I love the Car! I love Wilson!
We arrived, and of course Wilson had to get dressed for the party since we were all dressed. Then we played and ran in the snow (yes, it snowed in March - Utah weather) and I love the SNOW! And I love the backyard at Wilson's! I love Wilson! I hated wearing my jacket, but still, Snow!
Next, the best part of the evening - the meal. Aunt Andrea cut up our steak in real small pieces and put it over rice. Over the rice she put beef broth. Oh yum. All four of us Schnauzers got a bowl and I ate mine the slowest because I chew slower than everyone else. What? I like to savor it. And I like Steak! Yum!
After dinner, we slept. We had had a long evening with the car ride, the snow, the dinner, and the playing. I slept right next to Mom for a very long time. I love sleeping by Mom. I slept on all the way home and as soon as we got there I found my favorite cushion and crashed. My party was great! When's my next birthday???

So, lots has changed since I last wrote. Me and Mom moved into an whole other house, and now instead of just us, Aunt Ashley and her dog Olive live with us! Moving can be a real adjustment for us canine folk, but I must say I've pretty much taken it all in stride. It's nice to have another dog to live with again, and since Olive is bigger now, we play ALL the time. Actually sometimes I get so tired from playing, I have to "put the smack down" (as Mom says) and let Olive know who's the Top Dog. That usually lasts about 5 seconds and then she jumps on my head again. Oh well, I can't help it if I'm so irresistable.
There are also tons of dogs that live in our building so barking opportunities have grown exponentially. Of course, I made sure to teach Olive to bark at any and all noises and bark especially fervently if she can actually see a human or dog. It's really great with two of us. I think Mom and Ashley love it too, since they often begin shouting our names when we do it. In fact, I hear someone walking outside right now. Who are these people that think they can just walk past my door? I better go let them know I'm here and I'm NOT going anywhere!

So, I think I mentioned that new dog Olive. She's my cousin I guess, because she belongs to mom's sister. She's a schnauzer like me, which is great, but she's only about as big as my head. I don't know why, but that just freaks me out. She seems to be getting bigger really fast though, so now when I jump on the bed or couch to get away from her, she can almost get up there with me! I mean, a boy's got to have some reprieve right?
The other thing about Olive is that mom and all her friends think everything she does is SO great. She eats; she's great. She plays with a toy; yee-haw. She poops outside; bells and whistles. And now she can run up the stairs, which hello, I have been doing for years, and they all clap and cheer and "good girl" her like groupies or something. I do not get it. Plus she gets scared when I bark. I need to bark. It's the most important thing I do. How else would mom know there's a kid outside on a bike??
Even though I've been complaining, I have been known to play with the little tyke. And don't tell anyone, but when she stays at my house, I always look for her in her kennel. But keep it on the down-low, okay? I'm not quite ready to admit she's growing on me.
