Right after our dog Tuuk died my Mom decided we couldn't live without a dog so when she saw a story about Weimaraners on Animal Planet, she grabbed the paper and found an ad for them. The next night her and my brother went and picked Magpie up.

She's AKC certified and her full name is Maggie Crazy Pigeon. Her mother was Gertrude Silver Pigeon and her junior champion hunter father is Wienke's Bird Crazy Hunter. She has perfect color and eyes...but her nubbin got cut a little short. :)

Its been too long...

Its been so long since I added a diary entry. I still live with my Mommy but things have changed a lot. I miss my brother, Nathan, a whole bunch now that he's away at college. I don't even like to go into his room because it makes me sad. When he comes home, though, I get super duper excited and give him lots of kisses and hugs. Mommy got married and my new Daddy has a dog named Rocket. He's my best pal. We get to play all the time (mostly right by Mommy and Daddy's feet). We have a house in the country where we can sniff and run and wrestle outside (after Mommy and Daddy kick us out for wrestling on their feet). We also have my house where I've been since I was a puppy but we have a new fence and I can play outside and lay in the sun whenever I want. My neighbors are Romeo and Lola. Romeo is kinda old and grumpy but Lola is a Schnauzer and loves to play. I used to have another best friend named Zoe, but one day she snuck under the fence and ran away. We played a lot together but I never went under the fence like she did. I like being by my Mommy and playing in my yard.

Mostly I just lay around and do Weimaraner things. I steal butter off the counter sometimes or loaves of bread. Mommy gets mad at me, but I still think its worth it. I have my own ottoman that I get to sleep on and its cushy and soft. I get jealous because Rocket is so small and can jump up with Mommy and Daddy. Sometimes I forget that I'm really big and try to squeeze in too. They can resist my sad eyes and we end up squished on the couch together.

My sister just got a new doggy and her name is Kita. She is kinda scared of me and I don't really know why. I just want to play and so I pounce at her like I do with Rocket but she runs away. My sister says people were mean to her and I should be really nice so now I don't run at her anymore. I'm really good at being gentle. I know when its a little kid or an old person or Kita and I am extra gentle. Well, I'm getting kinda sleepy and should probably get back to doing Weim things like napping on my ottoman...or the couch if Mommy forgot to put the ironing board across it. I love the days when she forgets. :-)

The Big Day

Well, it was Maggie's big day today; she got spayed. The poor little girl has been laying on my futon mattress and whining since she got home. She must be in pain, but I don't know what to do for her. They gave her pain medicine when she left, but it doesn't seem to be working. I feel so bad because she's a helpless little Weimie right now and I want to make her feel better. We've all been sitting by her and petting her to try to calm her down. She sleeps for awhile and them wakes up and cries. Its so hard to see her hurting because I don't know what she needs, seeing as how she can't talk. :) They said tomorrow she should be better so we'll just have to wait and see. I know they took good care of her at the Vet because they all love her so much. They call her a little sweetheart and say they're going to sneak her home with them because she's such a beautiful doggie.

We also found out that she has a bad yeast infection in her ears. The vet said she has very stinky ears and she knew right away what was wrong with them. I just don't know how this happened because we clean her ears twice a week. We just made fun of her for having smelly ears. She has medicine now and we have to clean her big ears everyday. Maggie isn't going to like that too much. One good thing about going to the Vet is that they clipped her toenails while she was asleep. We haven't had such good luck with the nail clipping process. Maggie really doesn't like it and I've ended up cutting a nail too short because she moves her paw so I can't get it the right length. Well, everything is taken care of and she will soon be back to her playful self. I can't wait because Weimies aren't supposed to be crying.
