skilled at wielding his light saber; using the force only for good (sometimes); does typical doggie stuff: sit, stay, rolls over, sit/stay with a treat two feet in front of him but will not take the treat until given the release command
Arrival Story:
Yoda was a last minute decision. We were only going have one dog--Pickles. Yoda (formerly Chester) was already spoken for by another family. But when I went to pick up Pickles, my friend told me that Yoda's family decided not to take him. He and Pickles were the only two left in the litter, and they were the best of friends. We were going to get a kitten and raise Pickles and the kitten together but after talking to my husband we decided to get Yoda since he and Pickles already formed a close bond. When we got home we changed his name. After several ideas we finally came up with "Yoda" because not only does my husband love Star Wars but Yoda has big ears, which he kind of grew into but they are still big. Now that we have Yoda we can't imagine not having him in our family. My husband just loves him (and of course, so do I and Pickles). Now he's our baby boy!!
Bio:
Yoda loves to jump and run around the sofa. I think he would be good in agility. Maybe some day.... He also just loves "the love". Any love and affection that he gets he just eats up! And if someone else, even if it's me or my husband, is getting more affection and not him, then he wants in on it. He'll try to get in the middle of it so that he can get the hugs and kisses!
He also will try to trick Pickles away from something if he wants it (ie. treats, Kong, greenies, etc). If Pickles has a Kong and he wants it even though he already finished his, he will go to the red sofa chair and look out the window. He'll then start growling or barking at some imaginary thing to lure Pickles to leave her Kong and come look out the window. Occasionally he'll look back to see if she's coming. If she falls for it, then he immediately runs over to the Kong and takes it to his bed to finish it off. Poor Pickles is then left without a Kong. If I don't realize it, Pickles will come to me or whine in front of Yoda so that she can get it back. I feel bad for her so I take it away from Yoda and give it back to her. He can be really greedy!!

I totally tricked Mom, Dad, AND Pickles Sunday night. Mom gave Pickles and I fresh Kongs. I finished mine first but I also wanted Pickles' Kong. I pretended that I had to go outside to go potty but that was just a ploy to get Pickles away from her Kong. As soon as she saw Mom trying to put the leash on me, she got up and came to the door. Little did everyone know what I had up my little sleeve. When Pickles came to the door, I bolted from my collar and ran to Pickles' Kong. My plan worked!! Mom and Dad were very impressed with my devious act. I must say that I'm pretty proud myself!
