So far, the only "trick" she knows is "sit". It's harder for her since she has to learn hand signals.
Arrival Story:
Maggie came to me from Animals 1st Rescue in Houston, TX. When my husband and I lived in Houston, we fostered for Animals 1st. After my husband passed away in June of 2005, I decided I needed a new puppy and they happened to get Sundae (as she was known then) a couple of weeks later. My wonderful mother-in-law and my husband's cousin drove from Dallas to Houston to pick her up and I drove from Albuquerque to Dallas to get her.

Mom says I'm doing very well with my puppy training class (otherwise known as puppy torture school). She says I have to learn a trick in order to graduate though. She's trying to teach me to do something called "shake hands". It's so degrading. She says it's either that or learn to catch a treat when she throws it to me. Mom says I'm too slow to catch. I can't help it if the treat bounces off my face before I can catch it! Mom also says I'm going to be in serious trouble if I don't stop destroying the blinds on the back door. But they're so fun to play with! She just doesn't understand me.

Mom took me to this "puppy kindergarten" on Monday. Just as I thought! It's actually puppy torture school. I had to sit still for almost the whole time and mom didn't want me to whine or play with the other dogs either! Then I had to show everyone that I knew how to sit. Do these people think I'm an idiot? What kind of a dog doesn't know how to sit? Then was the worst thing. I had to walk on a leash! I hate that darn leash! It was so embarrassing! Mom says we have five more weeks of this! How will I survive?

Mom keeps talking about me starting "Puppy Kindergarten" on Monday. I'm suspicious that this is some kind of euphemism for puppy torture training camp. Help me!
