Arrival Story:
Akera's former owners were looking for someone who could give her lots of attention. A coworker knew I was looking for a "big dog" and let me know about her. We drove 45 minutes to meet her and really liked her. Akera came to live with us about a month later.

Bio:
Thanks to the vets at the Purdue Veterinary Teaching Hospital, Akera came through her battle with heartworms in tip top shape. She's back to harassing Bandit and has discovered the delights of stalking the chickens as they strut around the chicken pen. Now I just have to figure out a way to teach her that chickens aren't playthings.
