Arrival Story: Gus's owner accidently ran over him, fracturing the ball of his ball and socket joint in his hip. They wanted to treat him, but did not have the deposit they needed for the surgery Gus needed. They told us they would be back the next day, but never showed up. They would not return phone calls, and poor Gus had to sit in the cage the whole time we were trying to get in touch with them.
After nearly a week, we sent an abandonment notice and then they contacted us. She finally admitted not being able to pay for the surgery and surrendered Gus to the clinic. He had the surgery he needed and I've taken over his care.
Bio: GUS HAS BEEN ADOPTED!! He had his hip operated (FHO) on the 12th of July 2005, so he will need a special home for about 4 more weeks to make sure he heals ok. He should not suffer any ill effects from the surgery and should lead a normal life. He may have a little bit of a limp, but that won't slow him down!
The second picture is Gus being prepped for his surgery and the third is Gus recovering from his surgery.
Gus is neutered and currently up to date on his shots and deworming. Please PM me if you want any more information on Gus.
