Arrival Story: 12 years ago, went to purchase my first dog ever. Went to the Pasadena Humane Society, and looked and looked. Pablo came to me in a dream, and so I went back to get him the next day. He knew I was there for HIM, and when he saw me, he began jumping up and down!

Bio: Is a great camper. Gets settled in, and just hangs out. Very easy going. When he wags his tail, his entire hind section moves with it. Greets us every day with the same excitement as our first meeting!

Well, our Pablo really defied the odds....he was diagnosed with liver tumors (multiple) in 2002, and was basically given 6 months to live - we cried and cried. But then, with the help of many many medications and special food, he seemed to be just fine. Then, in 2003 he was diagnosed with Cushings disease. Again, we cried, but - as usual, he seemed to be just fine. Just more and more medication, but really this dog was not only living but living well! However in June 2005 he started getting weakness in his legs, and over the course of 3 weeks progressed from stumbling to not being able to walk, or stand, or go to the bathroom standing up. The vet tried and tried but could not figure out what brought on this sudden, devestating change. One thing we can say is that he continued to be so happy to greet us, and brought us SO MUCH JOY even when he was too sick to stand. When he started to refuse his special treats we knew he must be feeling really badly. We had to say goodbye on June 28, 2005. It was the most difficult day of my life. Our dear, sweet, irreplacable Pablo- you were the best doggie on the planet. We miss you so much.
