-purebred

Likes:
stealing socks, getting cookies, and swimming

Pet-Peeves:
when people touch his feet

Favorite Toy:
any toy, he likes to destroy them all.. especially those that squeek

Favorite Food:
any food is good food

Favorite Walk:
to the lake, dog park, and pretty much anywhere (even to the veterinarian), but he'd rather run full speed ahead than walk

Best Tricks:
he knows plenty, but to date the best one is play dead.

Arrival Story:
We purchased Jaeger from a breeder recommended by a vet who was breeding dogs for field work. He was 12 weeks old, and the biggest of a litter of nine. He was already started on pointing and retrieval work. Both his parents were solid liver like he is, and the pups were 5 solid and 4 ticked. The breeder still had Jaeger's Grandmother who was 11 years old at the time. I ended up playing ball with her for about an hour and decided I wanted to have one just like her (and boy do I).

Bio:
Jaeger is the biggest clown around. He runs like crazy, points, retrieves, and swims. Some of his more interesting traits include hording socks from the laundry basket, getting all the girl dogs at the dog park to chase him around, "talking" back to me, dragging his blanket in front of the heater for a nap, pointing at frogs, and drooling all over himself when he sees someone eating. He has gone through basic obedience and is getting good at tricks. This includes the "bang" trick but it seems to take a few good shots (meanwhile he's rolling around) before he actually plays dead. He's great with kids, despite being a bit on the hyper side, and typically does a dance around cats (in an I-want-to-play-but-you-scare-me sort of way).

Fostering Success

April 27th 2008 11:53 am   [link to this entry]

We just said goodbye to our two foster pups. Although it is hard to see them leave, we are glad that we had the opportunity to help them out and that we can continue to help out others just like them. We're confident that they'll be going to great homes and that they are much more healthy and socialized then when they came to us. Good luck Audi and Liebe! We know you'll make your owners very happy!

Kuno was adopted!

He's now living with a nice man on FIVE fensed acres :o and has a new solid liver GSP brother- just like me!

We hope he has a very nice life from now on! Although it's sad to see him go, it's great to know that a cast off dog on his last day at the shelter is now in a great home!

Fostering is such a fun and rewarding experience!

We recommend it!
