Likes:
My most favorite-est thing to do is play with other doggies!

Pet-Peeves:
Mommy likes to dress me up. I have an extensive wardrobe. She even makes me clothes. I like it when I come home and Gramma saves me and takes them off!

Favorite Toy:
My favorite toy is a rawhide chewie. I love to throw it up in the air and chase it around the room!

Favorite Food:
Greenies! Yum! If my Auntie Thistle is eating one, I "stalk" her until she deserts it. Then I pounce!

Favorite Walk:
My favorite place to walk is anywhere with wide open spaces! I can only go so far cause of the leash. I love to run! Sometimes I sneak out between my mommy's legs and go for a run. She doesn't think that's very funny...but I do!

Best Tricks:
I know how to sit, lay down, roll over, and when mommy says "Bang!" I play dead. I am learning to stay, but I don't have much patience for it.

Arrival Story:
On April 25, 2005, someone I never saw before saw me running around near Pajaro and Willow in Salinas. It turns out her name was Diann and she's an animal control officer at the shelter. She put me in Stray Dog kennel 21 and just left me there. I got my very own animal number, though, and I even got my very own mug shot taken! .................. .................... ................... The other doggies in stray told me I was at the Salinas Animal Shelter. I was very scared. And when it came time to close, this blonde lady came walking by me. She thought I was so cute, she stopped to talk to me! After a couple days, she came and visited me in my kennel. I was a submissive pee-er and she didn't like that, but my cuteness won her over! .................. .................... ................... Pretty soon her boyfriend came in to see me and voila! I have a new mommy and daddy now! I was very happy to be getting out of there. They said I had to have something called spaying done to me. I was brought to the SPCA but I had kennel cough so they brought me back to the shelter. .................. .................... ................... I got to go home with Mommy that day cause they said I would get better faster if I was away from the other doggies. After I was done with my medication, I was brought back to the SPCA by my parents. I was picked up by a man and ended right back at the shelter. It was such a relief when I found out my mommy was there! .................. .................... ................... I didn't like being spayed and I'm glad I don' t have to go through it again! The anesthesia made me sick! I wasn't back to my old self for three whole days! You can see a picture of me looking groggy under my mommy's yellow jacket. .................. .................... ................... Over time, my mommy brought me to her house more and more. Eventually my cousin Thistle got used to me and now she doesn't attack me every time I see her. I think she likes me! It may have taken several months, but now I officially live with my mommy and I'm legally all hers. Yay!

Bio:
I have an entire wardrobe of clothes! Aside from buying them in stores and online (I look so cool in my sun glasses!), she makes them! She crochets me dresses and sews me shirts. I'm not too keen on having stuff on my head, so she hasn't made me a hat yet.

Growing Up As Clover Grace

I haven't updated in a while, so Mommy said I should. I looked over my past entries and I have come a long way since then! I no longer have a daddy. He got mean and mommy almost had to get a restraining order for him to leave her alone. He also got a new lady friend and decided against ever seeing me again. So he can kiss my tail. I love my mommy better anyways! And my Auntie Dawn, Gramma, and Granpa!

I started attacking the mail lately. Mommy tells me it isn't a good thing. I try to ignore it, but I can't resist it! It is so fun! I even tried getting the mail lady, which made mommy really mad.

I got a new cousin! Auntie Dawn adopted another shelter dog, Winnie Rose (well, Winifred, but no one ever calls her that), but she is still a puppy. She drives me nuts some times. She always wants to play! She usually sleeps with me and mommy because she can't get up and chew things she is not supposed to. Winnie is my friend on here.

My mommy still dresses me up in clothes. After a car accident last year, I use my doggie seat. It was a hot day, so mommy let me unhooked from my car seat so I could reach the window, but then this lady pulled out and I hit the dashboard! It totalled her sable, but now we have a cool truck that is all mine!

Mommy cleans cats for a rescue group. She cleans them at Colliers and Petsmart. I am a good girl. I go with her and sit in a kennel at Colliers until she's done. At petsmart, I get to roam free cause we're in a little room. It's funny cause mommy is allergic to kitties, so I get to see her sneeze a lot.

I discovered new doggie treats, too! I love pigs ears! Mommy said they are alternatives that come in a green package. I do not care, they are just good! I like to chew on hooves, too, but we three dogs fight over them, so the last one got thrown out. :(

I spend lots of time with my mommy now. She even got me a pink and green camo bed that says "major diva" on the inside. She said it is from Target. I want to go and pick out my own stuff, but she says they won't let me in the store. :( I like to curl up on that bed and sleep. It is next to mommy when she is on the computer.

I still go to the animal shelter with mommy. She has not been happy, though, cause I randomly hate other dogs. I wish I could explain it to her, but I can't. One day I will hate a dog, like Patrick, Auntie Petra's foster dog. But now we are fine together. Mommy calls me picky and whenever I decide I don't like a dog, for some reason she puts me in my kennel. I try and tell the dog I do not like it and go away, but she says I am too loud and a bad dog when I do it.

Mommy went away overnight this weekend. I did not like that. She did bring me a treat, though! I was so excited to see her! I kept jumping on her to have her pick me up, which is something I never do. She smelled like Lucy, but did not bring her home for me to play with.

My wardrobe has gotten so big now. It is bigger than mommies! I share with my cousin. Of course I get to wear the cutest clothes first! I still do not like wearing clothes, but I get used to it. Especially when people tell me I am cute.

Okay, that is it for now. This entry was exhausting! I need a nap!

Recently I've started this habit of licking my mommy's blankets. Mommy did some research and found out it can start out of boredom then turn into a small bit of OCD. She started laughing like she was crazy. I was a bit scared, but I was next to Grandma, so I thought she would protect me. Then Mommy told Grandma and Grandma started laughing like she was crazy! Mommy said we may not win a look-a-like contest, but we can win a most-a-like contest. The more I do, the more I act just like my mommy!

Wow, it as been a while since I have written. I have much to say! To start with, I can say, "Neener neener!" For a couple months now, I have been blamed for getting into the bathroom trash and dragging out unmentionables. Late last night, my mommy went into the bathroom and almost tripped on my Auntie Thistle scurrying out of the room. She was the perpetator! I am set free! Whoo!

Auntie Dawn decided she wanted a doggie of her own (a cousin! eeee! I'm so excited) and has passively started looking. She wants a female, smoothcoat dachshund, more from a rescue group than a breeder. I hope it's someone my age so I can play with her!

A couple weeks ago I turned two! Happy birthday to meeeee! I got lots of nifty presents and an awesome birthday party. Sampson and Delilah celebrated their first birthdays then, too. The photograph of me in the pink dress and lei is my birthday outfit. (Mommy said I look funny in frilly clothes. Her and Gramma say I'm a tomboy.) Not only did lots of doggies come, but their owners came, too. We all had lots of fun. The day after the party, I slept a lot. I was exhausted!

Do I look like a star? Old Navy is looking for a new mascot and Mommy entered me in the contest! Celebrity Judges will choose 6 dogs that the public will get to vote on. I hope they choose me as one of the six! It would be so cool to make it that far! After all, Mommy is always telling me how cute I look!

You should come visit me at the Salinas Animal Shelter. I have lots of friends there who need a home.
