Arrival Story:
I fell in love with Cavaliers almost 7 years ago. I grew up with Newfoundlands and my mom's Newfie breeder also had Cavaliers! She called them "big dogs in a little dog body"! Fearless, friends with everyone, and happy all the time, I knew this was the dog for me!
I researched the breed for 5 years before I finally found a wonderful breeder who cared a lot about health and temperment (because Cavs are prone to quite a few awful diseases). :( I was waiting to get a pup from a litter, when the breeder told me that a slightly older puppy was available because the people who were going to take him decided to wait for a while. Lucky us!! It turned out to be Rory! The best Cav in the world! (no offense to all the other wonderful cavs out there. ;)
We had actually met him as a tiny pup and fallen in love then, but couldn't have him because he was already spoken for. When we went to meet him again, he was by far the biggest pup in his litter. Almost twice as big as his little sis! But so sweet and perfect. Fearless, friendly, with a perfect little blenheim lozange on the top of his head! The breeder was calling him "Hank" because he was such a big boy!
Well, we took him home and fell totally in love! Now here we almost a year and a half later. He's such an amazing dog and we are so lucky!
Bio:
Rory started entering dog shows this year and loves it! So far no points, but we've done well. This is Mom's first time handling, too, and we're both having lots of fun!

Rory had brain surgery in November for Syringomyelia (www.sm.cavaliertalk.com) and the dog shows excited him too much, so we have stopped showing. He was neutered a couple weeks ago, too. He is actually even sweeter than before, if you can believe it! And definitely calmer, since the neuter. :)
His 2nd birthday is today! He got a stinky bully stick and came to school with me. This evening we're going to a BBQ so that should be fun, too. I can't believe my little boy is 2!

Oh, boy! Another dog show match tomorrow night and then two REAL dog shows this weekend. I can't wait to strut my stuff and show off how handsome I am. :) I luuuuuuuuv all the attention, even though Mom always gives me a bath and busts out that annoying blow dryer. :( No fun. But then I get to see my friends Harry, Oliver, Wells, and Harry's sis, Spellbound! :D I can't wait to meet her!
Today I got to go play with my other friend, Riley. But he's not a dog. He's a cat!!! And he plays a little rough sometimes... His nails are pretty sharp and they get caught in my furry ears sometimes. :( But it's still fun to play with him. He's crazy.

Today my mom woke me up early and blew my ears dry again. Ugh! I tried to slowly creep away from her, but she kept catching on and pulling me back. :( And then she made me wear this silly thing called a "snood"' over my ears so they wouldn't get wet and dirty. What fun is drinking water if you can't get your ears soaking wet??
Then we drove to a park where it was awfully hot and a bunch of my other Cavvie friends were there, like Harry, Oliver, Wells, Billy, and Marty! We all got to show off our stuff walking around the ring and I got picked adult Best of Breed! yay!! That was sure fun! But then we had to sit around in the hot hot heat for a while longer until I got to go back into the ring and show the judge what hot stuff I am! He must of thought I was pretty cute because he gave me 4th place!! Fun fun fun!
Thankfully, after that we got to go back into the air conditioned car and I took a nap on the ride back. :) Pretty cool stuff.
