Pet-Peeves:
Being outside any time Mom is inside; wearing a Halti; being treated like a dog. Also spooked by men in uniform or with trucks/tools; loud car and machine noises. The vacuum cleaner.

Kong filled with yummy stuff; once in a while shredding a tennis ball. I will take the innards out of any stuffed toy and leave a pile of stuffing for Mom to clean up.

Mom's homemade Bennie Burgers, cottage cheese on kibble. Greenies.

Arrival Story:
In a relationship breakup I was losing my beloved dog Ben (now referred to as Ben Sr.) I was also facing surgery. One day a woman at work had this very frightened 75-lb dog in the hallway, struggling to convince him it was safe to come inside. I walked over because the dog looked so much like my Ben, and found out that this dog's name was Bennie! And then found out that she was fostering him and he was up for adoption at the San Francisco SPCA. He came home to me 2 weeks after my surgery and has been by my side ever since.

Bio:
No one really seems to know Bennie's history but he was brought to the SPCA in late Nov. 2002 weighing 55 lbs. (semi starving). He is very mellow overall but lost out on a lot of adoption possibilities because he would do this total "pogo stick" jump in his kennel and folks thought we was wild. Turns out he's really just goofy and loving. He brings out love in almost everyone who meets him. I've been told by some Great Dane folks they are sure he's got Dane in him... I guess we'll never know for sure. UPDATE: In June 2005 my mom started a pet publication, FETCH (www.fetchthepaper.com) for San Francisco Bay Area pets and their people.
