Wherever our family goes.

Best Tricks:
We have learned to sit, lay down, give paw and roll over. We have aslo become quite a Frisbee dog and she goes full out to catch it.

Arrival Story:
Taber came to us from Dalaussie ACD's of Alberta Canada at 7.5 wks of age. We are enjoying her so much. Our mature 13 yr old ACD Teddy tolerates MOST of her nonsence and has shown the youngin who is top dog but is still very patient, even when she is being naughty. The cats (2) could do without her but Missy our black cat has become Taber's favorite. Taber grooms her and they can be very loving. In April of 09, we rescued a little dog from the local shelter for my husband, he'd been wanting a dog of his own for quite some time. Teddy was getting up in years and we thought it best to get her a playmate who could keep up with her and hopefully soften the blow when Teddy leaves us. So Taber now has an active, naughty little brother who pesters his much bigger sister to no end. Now she know's how Teddy felt all this time. =)

Bio:
Miss Taber is for our now 9 year old daughter and they have gained a lasting bond. They play wonderfully together with lots of love, affection and plenty of play. It is very funny and touching to watch sometimes. The video on your left was taken Summer of 2006 when my daughter was 6 and Taber 1. What a goofy pair.

The Life and Times of an ACD Puppy

The Unwilling Easter Heeler

Well they went and did it again. First it was my little girl trying different hats and scarves on me that I was made to parade around in. Then the clothes started for Halloween 2005. I ended up as my little girls "Beach Babe" in her swim suit with matching bright pink hula skirt and sun glasses.

Christmas came and so did the Elf and Santa hats. Had to sit through a photo session with my little girl sitting under the tree for Family greeting cards.

Other than a few cold weather wardrobe play days, Winter wasn't too bad. I managed to sneak by St. Patrick's day without sporting any kind of green garb. Thank you St. Patrick!

Then came Easter and the dreaded fluffy bunny ears. Oh yes, my luck had run out, they were not about to forget the bunny ears.

Mom made me sit through another silly photo session just to get some goofy shots. So I gave her one. I sat there making an abused puppy face when it came to me. Why not make a real face, show Le Photographer and my little girl what a REAL goofy face looks like and thats when I did it.

Pulled my ears back and stuck my tongue out. Mom took the shot. It was a great moment.

Maybe that will teach them to think twice before the next holiday comes with costume and camera.

Till next time,

Taber

My Worst Day Ever

The day started out pretty good. Got Mom up real early to go pee, chased some bugs and tried to eat some dirt. Mom didn't like that and scolded me. Oh well in the house we went, ate my breakfast and then had a nap. Mom took me out later to go potty...again. She takes me out to go potty a lot. What's up with that?

Anyway, I had some fun chasing two of the cats around the house until Mom put a stop to that too. Sheesh.

Then Mom carried me into my little girls bathroom and put me into this big pool of water. I didn't like it and cried. Mom wouldn't let me crawl out. Teddy came in to try and rescue me but Mom wouldn't let her. Mom kept saying I had to look nice for some special people we were going to see. She didn't want me to be all stinky and dirty. What's wrong with stinky and dirty?

Mom zoomed around the house and so did my little girl. They put this stringy thing on me and we walked out of the house to the car. I didn't like the ride at all. I cried and squeaked all the way to town. Mom kept giving me this dirty look, said something about her ears hurting.

We stopped by a friends house to visit and I got to sit in a nice ladies lap. She had a neat chair with wheels. I gave her kisses. She liked that.

Then we went to see Daddy at work. He took me inside and showed me off to all his buddies and I got a nice cold drink of water.

Then we left again and Mom carried me into this funny smelling place. There were other dogs there and I sat on the counter in Moms arms. She wouldn't let me walk around. We went into this room where I finally got to sit on this table way up in the air. It was boring so I fell asleep. This strange man woke me up to look in my mouth and shined this bright light into my eyes. I just wanted to sleep.

Back in the car to pick up Dad at work. Dad was hungry so we went by this great smelling window and got food. Dad gave me this thing, he called it a French Fry. I didn't like it.

Then we went to this big place and Mom put me in this rolling cart thingy and we all went inside. Mom called it the Home Depot. It smelled funny inside too but I liked riding along. Mom kept saying how good a girl I was being.

When we finally got home, I played outside with my little girl. We had fun. Boy was I pooped out.

Anyway, that was my worst day EVER. But I survived. I hope it's smooth puppyhood from here on out!

Your pal,

Taber
