Happy Belated Birthday to me!

Hi All,
I'm 4! I'm so glad to have my mommy. She lets me sleep with her and she's training me to walk around our new complex off leash (with no other dogs around of course!) Mommy and I now live in Oakland. We visit Bear often. Although I think Mommy visits more than I do. Sometimes I even get to have sleep overs with Bear. Mommy really misses him. Mommy and I are having a blast in our new place... it's taken me awhile to feel like this is home... but her cushy bed sure does help!

An update from Mommy

Quita is progressing very well, despite my inconsistencies. I only had to use the shake can with her on walks a few times, she picked that up very quickly. Quita responds well to treats. She's no longer barking at those strange noises outside the door. She's coming close to making friends with a neighbor Chihuahua. Quita sniffed him one day and even kissed him, but then pulled back real quick when he licked back. Progress, slow but it is happening! She entertains herself well at home. Quita is a typical kid and takes ALL her toys out of her toybox and REFUSES to put them away. Check back soon for her latest adventures in Davis, CA.

My big brother

Dear fellow doggies,
I have a confession to make. I've been trying to avoid my big brother Bear, but I just can't seem to. When he wants a hug from Mommy I need one too. When he gets a scratch, or a kiss you better bet I get one too! But then, he started getting scratched when I was on Mommy's lap. Now normally I would be okay with this, BUT HE STARTED TO LICK ME DURING THIS! What on earth is his problem? At first I started to growl, but then Mom yelled at me. Then I decided that I kind of liked it, it tickeled. And then, I swear I don't know how it happened, but, (oh my gosh am I really gonna say this?) I licked him back. Today Mommy caught us licking each other at the same time...what does this mean? Am I no longer jealous of him? Do I actually like him? Oh man, this is gonna be held over my head for awhile. HELP!

Brr, it's cold out here in Davis. I've learnd that my jacket is a good thing! Mom says she's going to buy me some booties too. I think it's going to make me look silly but I don't care because it's awfully cold out there. Mom says I'm doing better, I'm only barking at other dogs once or twice and then I stop. How is that better? I should keep barking at them right? I don't know why but Mommy keeps saying what a good girl I am when I don't bark. She's crazy.
I tried to play with Bear this week but he didn't want to play. I think he was still grumpy about having surgery this week. He's feeling better though. His pace when walking is almost back to normal.

First Day of School

Mom took me with Bear to school today. I had to be in Bear's class. Bear said I better not make him look bad. I screeched a bit when Mom left me with someone, but that was because her and Bear were having fun without me. Autnie Dina (aka the teacher) took good care of me and assured me I was okay. Then I was passed off to someone else who tortured me by making me follow her commands. I am so new to this world of listening to humans. Everyone says that I am smart, because in this week and a half of being with Mommy I have learned that putting my collar on to go for a walk is not such a bad thing. Mom and I have homework, they say its to help me be less shy. WHAT DO THESE PEOPLE THINK? My last family put me up for adoption and I am still trying to trust my Mommy. GIVE IT TIME PEOPLE! SHEESH. That was my adventure for today, hope all of you are doing well. Come back soon for more of my adventures.

Oh Boy, Oh Boy, Oh Boy!

I HAVE A NEW HOME! WOO-HOO! I miss my other family but this new one seems to treat me right. I was a little afraid of everyone, but my new Mommy is showing me around, and my new brother is even letting me walk with him. He's so cute and furry! He was laying on his side and Mommy was brushing him when I snuck up and tried to lay on his hind leg. I couldn't keep my balance so I gave him a good scratch instead. Better watch it old man, you are soon going to be my new bed! Lots of exciting things are happening, I'll have to keep you posted. Ta ta for now!
