Arrival Story: I always wanted a dog that looked like a wolf. A couple months after moving into the house, I couldn't decide if I wanted a Husky or a Shepherd. One Sunday night while looking at Petfinders, I saw her picture (small pic w/red leash) and I had to have her. I went to the shelter the next day and brought her home to her new Kingdom.

Bio: Kiera was picked up by the MHS as a stray. She was obviously mistreated my a male, as she warms up to women right away, but is leery of men when first meeting them. She was very reserved in her cage when I saw her and I almost opted for a hyper-friendly Golden near her. Then I decided that she is what I came for and something told me to stick with her. (Besides, the fact that she was my perfect "wolf" dog.) It took her a couple weeks to really get comfortable in her new home. I didn't even know if she could bark for over a week, and although friendly, not affectionate. After three months her real personality came out and we don't even have to ask for kisses anymore...she offers them freely, and she is the most expressive dog I’ve ever known. Because of her turn-around, I really feel like we "rescued" her. I thank God everyday that I brought her home. She's by beautiful Baby!
