Arrival Story:
We had just sent our Beauregard to the Bridge 5 days before. I knew I had to have another hound. I just had this feeling, so I called our local Humane Society and asked if they had any basset hounds there. They told me they had just gotten in a basset mix! I got excited and told them I would be over after work to see him. I went and fell in love with him. I adopted him that day.

We had JAMES for a very short time, only a little over 2 years. He suddenly became ill, and after many tests, found out that his kidneys were failing. Once we got this diagnosis, he went downhill very quickly. Within days we had to send him to the Bridge. He passed peacefully with his head resting on my husband's shoulder and me hugging them both. It was very possibly the saddest day of my life. I love you and miss you very much, JAMES-ey. You will be in my heart forever. JAMES - ATB 1/27/04
