She Is Gone
You can shed tears that she is gone
or you can smile because she lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that she'll come back
or you can open your eyes and see all she's left.
Your heart can be empty because you can't see her
or you can be full of the love you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday
or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember her and only that she's gone
or you can cherish her memory and let it live on.
You can cry and lose your mind,
be empty and turn your back
or you can do what she'd want:
smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

Inky left this world to be with Harvey on Sat, Sept 1, 2007.
She's always been so devoted to me because I think she
knew that I saved her from a bad situation. I remember
the first time I saw her when we moved into our new
home. Our neighbor came to introduce himself and his
2 dogs, Inky and Jinx. Jinx was a young black lab, very
lively and playful. Inky, was shy and didn't walk up to us
for awhile. But I went to her and talked to her. I fell
in love with her that day. I vowed that one day she would
be mine. There were so many days that our neighbor,
in his drunken stupor would leave both dogs outside
in the rain or snow. We would always un-chain them and
bring them home. We'd lie and say, we didn't have them.
I hated the conditions they were living in. It took 2 years
to convince Ray to give up Jinx. I had Jinx go to a good
home in Lake Geneva, WI. I never gave up on Inky. She
was by us alot because Harvey just loved her so much.
They didn't want to be w/o each other. There were
so many nights, that Inky would jump into my bed and
she'd be shaking and scared and I'd hold her till she
fell asleep. She was always very protective of me, even
before she lived with us. And then 4 years ago, Ray
fell into a drunk stupor/coma and I took Inky home
with me for good. She was always so happy here with
us. She loved Harvey and tolerated Lexus. She loved
every person she met and they loved her back. Who
couldn't love Inky? She was beautiful, with her big
brown eyes and her gentle personality.
When she was really happy, she'd wag her
tail so fast that it was like a propeller. It was so cute.
Harvey left to the Rainbow Bridge last July and I know
that Inky missed him. And she started not feeling too well
right b4 Christmas. She had a mini-stroke and we found
out that she had arthritic lesions on her spine. She started
having trouble walking.. She was on cortisone shots for
awhile and steroids. It helped some but by July, we could
realy see how weak she was getting. Rob and I love her
so much that we could not bear to see her suffering. Thats
why, she went to the Rainbow Bridge. She's reunited with
Harvey now. I believe that she is out of pain and she's running
and playing like a pup. One day....we will all be together.
* I have sent you on a journey to a land free of pain, not
because I did not love you, but because I loved you too
much to force you to stay.*

I've been tagged by Casey and Scout. I do apologize that it took me so long
to answer...But I'm an old girl and the memory is not as sharp as
it used to be. Here are 7 fun facts about me.
1/ I'm mommy's girl 100%. She rescued me and for that I will never leave her
side.
2/I can eat off a spoon and a fork.
3/I love all the friends I made on Dogster.
4/I love when my mom rests her head on my tummy and strokes
my head and chest. Sigh!
5/I just love going for a ride. It doesn't matter where or when
but, even though sometimes I'm hard of hearing....I hear
the jingle of truck keys....and I'm looking to see who's going
outside. And they BETTER take me with them.
6/I love to kiss faces, I do nibble a little hard sometimes. Sorry!
7/I miss Harvey...I was very sad when he didn't come one day
from the vet...sometimes I dream about him.
I'm Tagging:
Princess Ginger
Sundar
Hershey
Peanut
Austin

Lets have some fun ...here are the rules:
Each Player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Pups who are tagged need to post in their diary the rules and their 7 pawsome facts. Then choose 7 dogs to tag and list their names. Don't forget to bark them a pawmail that they have been tagged and to read your diary, or send them a rosette announcing they've been tagged.
ready ... set... Woof...!
