Arrival Story:
Baxter was up for adoption from the Internet Miniature Pinscher Service. He was listed on the Sacramento. Joy, his foster mom, emailed me a lot of pictures of him and it was love at first sight. We had just lost our wonderful little 17-year-old miniature pinscher-Sugar Plum- and we wanted another one very badly. My husband had just come home from the hospital, having had serious surgery. I knew that he would want another baby. Baxter's previous father had passed away and his children couldn't keep him. We love him dearly. He's the greatest and has a fabulous and exuberant personality. Joy, his IMPS foster mommy, named him Baxter but since he was such a regal and elegant looking dog, we just had to add "Prince" to his name. He's our wonderful lover boy doggie.

He loves to dig and was able to go under our fence to our neighbor's yard. We're working on making the fence escape proof. He also loves to bury his chews in our larger plants. I never know when I'll find a pile of dirt next to one of them. Baxter loves to be rubbed and stroked. If you stop, he immediately starts pawing and/or tapping your arm to get you to continue...and won't give up until told to. And you should see him run. When it's time to play, he gets down on his front legs, bottom up and encourages you to do the same. When you do, he takes off in a flash and races at lightning speed around the house. It's such fun to watch him go. I guess it's a throwback to his Italian greyhound ancestry.
