Today I took my last breath around 12:10pm at the Alexandria Animal Hospital with my parents, my favorite vet and my suckling toys by my side. My parents were crying so much but i was relieved to be put out of my misery. My vet said my kidneys were failing and with my tumor making it harder and harder for me to breathe, I was brought in at the right time.
I hadn't slept or ate in days and could not get comfortable to lay down in one position. My parents made a very hard decision but it was the right one for me.

A Tired & Depressed Chessie.

I wonder if I spoke too soon about good I feel. Last week was a awesome week for me. My energy levels were great but now I feel really tired. This weekend all i wanted to do was sleep. I tried to run up the stairs on Saturday but my legs slipped out from under me. I got stuck with both my front legs going up the stairs and both back legs straight out from under me. My mommy came running to my rescue when she heard the noise. She got really sad and started to cry but I told her that I would be alright.
The rest of the weekend I just layed around on top of or right against the A/C vents. I love very cold air! That's all for now. I am going to go lay back down.
I wonder if my brother Billy is doing o.k.

My Raw Diet!

It has been almost 2 months exactly since I got the news about my grave condition. However, I have to say, I am feeling better than ever! My mommy has had me on a raw food diet for the last 5 weeks. That means NO DOG FOOD! I HATE dog food and am so glad I never have to eat it again. I just munch on raw chicken... Yeah your probably thinking oh my salmonella but remember, I have the digestive system of a wolf. Dogs are domesticated but our digestive tracts aren't. Raw meat and bones are the best things for me- I am living proof of it.
Plus, my poops don't stink! She has read 2 great books about it like- Raw Dog Food: Make it Easy for You and Your Dog by Carina Beth Macdonald & Home Prepared Dog and Cat diets- the Healthful Alternative by Donald R. Stombeck.
The dog food Industry wants to scare you that this isn't the way to feed pets but what could possibly be better than natural food God put on this earth!
Well, it's almost dinner time, I have to get ready for my raw beef and vegtables followed by a bananna... YUMMY!
