 Quick Bio:
 Birthday: June 25th 1999
Likes: her house, pillows, snacks, digging holes and eating the dirt

Pet-Peeves: having her teeth brushed

Favorite Toy: her red squeaky guy- especially when she's happy. Red guy is the favorite, but she has many guys- blue guy, yellow guy, purple guy. All subject to her whims of fancy.

Favorite Food: Greenies, all things from the magic dog food drawer, every type of people food she's tried except lettuce. She also has a real fondness for eating dirt from the back yard. And of course whatever is in her sister Plum's dish.

Favorite Walk: anywhere!

Best Tricks: The "Groin Jab"; the "booo WOOOOO"

Arrival Story: Blue is a retired racing greyhound from Kansas. She was brought to Canada by a greyhound rescue agency. We wanted to add a greyhound to our pack for some time and arranged a meet and greet with her. After meeting this sweet soul, we decided we wanted her with us. We drove 7 hours to pick her up. She slept the whole time and was a really good traveller. We guess that after travelling from Kansas, she was used to seeing the country from the back seat of a vehicle.

Bio: Blueberry has her very own built in "happy meter". She is usually very quiet and laid back, but when she gets lots of rubs or silly talk, she gets real happy. It builds up more and more until she cant keep it in, then she looks you in the eye, wags real big and goes (nice and loud): "boooo WOOOOOOOO!"

Forums Motto: I'm still hungry!

On a beautiful autumn day, after sunning herself in her favorite corner of the yard, Blueberry crossed the Rainbow Bridge.
We hope that one day we're all so good as to be allowed across that bridge, to be with her once again.
Rest in peace, our precious angel.

Sad Content Warning!
Today my mom and dad took me to the vet because I have been limping alot. They took xrays and discovered that I have bone cancer in my shoulder. Unfortunately this means that I'm not feeling good and that they say that I am not going to get better. My family is very sad. They always have said that I am their angel, and pretty soon I will have my wings.
Blueberry has been the most wonderful dog we have ever owned: a sweet and gentle soul, with a vulnerability and a charisma that always managed to draw people to her. We are devastated by this news and believe that she will leave a huge void in our hearts and our family. We adopted a retired greyhound (age 6) knowing that one day this would come, but ultimately that knowledge only helps so much. We do know that we have given Blueberry a fabulous 4 years of our lives, and in exchange she enriched our existence beyond words. She made us better for knowing her. She absolutely will be missed by all of her pack - Kim, Garett, Beck and Plum.

I've learned a new trick. When it is time to go for a walk, and my dad is too slow, I grab his fingers in my front teeth and bite them. It is perfect because my head is right at his finger level. I don't care if he doesn't like it - he's too slow in doing his duty.
