Leave a bone for ELI ( In Loving Memory)

Nicknames: "E" , "Mr. E" ," my cutie patootie", "my old man"

Quick Bio:
 Birthday: January 1st 1991
Likes: being "on the scene"--in the middle of all the action

Pet-Peeves: thunder storms, being alone, cats, and squirrels!

Favorite Toy: squeakie toys of all shapes and sizes

Favorite Food: fish sticks, tuna, and other "treats" given sparingly after meals!

Favorite Walk: anywhere ...just take me along!

Best Tricks: having my family "trained" to meet all of my whims! bringing my human family in contact with so many wonderful folks through the years.

Arrival Story: ELI was found on I-95 after being abandonened. Jack, his first "angel", took him in and boarded him at the local vet until a proper home could be found...He caught the eye of my father who mentioned his plight to us by phone...We drove from MA to PA to have a look, introduced him to "brother", ENCORE, and the rest is history!

Bio: ELI suffered from terrible separation anxiety. With the help of many exceptional 2 legged pals, (including his wise and wonderful veterinarian, his incredible day care providers and various extended family and precious friends), he carved out a life he could be happy in! This life included a special 10 year bond with his "Golden brother", ENCORE. With all of his challenges and unique needs, ELI's been one of the great joys of our lives!

Here it is, so many months later for my heartbroken family. They feel my presence all the time -- I make sure of that.
My mom is about to conclude another school year. This will be her first "dogless" summer in 16 years. We always loved our summer days together...
She read a beautiful quotation by Helen Keller that helps. Here it is:
"What we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes a part of us."
XO XO XO from heaven...

As the days wear on, the reality of life without dear ELI is upon us.
He was such a big part of every day's routine; there's a huge hole in our lives.
We have received so many beautiful expressions of sympathy. Knowing that people care and understand has helped.

The last couple of days have been rough for me. Standing without tipping over, almost impossible. Life here has become just too hard...something my family has never wanted for me.
Lots of my 2 legged friends and family came to see me one more time.
We were all ready.
My beloved vet, Dr. T., and her wonderful tech, Chris, came to my house to help me move on to heaven. Mine was a gentle, dignified passing...a circle of love.
My mom and dad are comforted by the memories of my incredible life, and know that I am romping with my brother, ENCORE...pain free , worry free.
We'll all be together every day, in our hearts.
