I haven't updated here much lately. I've been kinda busy, keeping track of my sister Peach and my brother Lucky. Yep! That's right! I got a new little brother. He's actually about twice my size, but he's still my little brother, and he knows I'm in charge!
I don't know if I should even say this here, but Mom and Dad weren't planning on another sibling for me. He was an "accident". Don't let him know -- I don't want him to feel bad. But one day Daddy was walking Peach, and this scruffy dog came up to them and kept trying to pee on Peach. I think that's pretty funny; Peach didn't, BOL. Anyhoo, he followed them all the way home and right into the house! Mom wasn't real happy at first. He really looked kinda bad, his ribs were sticking out, and he was kinda stinky. But Daddy cleaned him up and took him to the vet. He called the town shelter, and left a description and said we would foster him, and then Dad made a date to go into the shelter to have him checked for a chip. Before he could get Lucky in to be checked, the shelter called us back and said that his family was looking for him. Daddy said he'd bring him in the following day, and we all said goodbye. Mom cried. Then, would you believe, his own family didn't want him back???? The fines from the town would have been $500 dollars for him (he was a repeat offender), and they didn't think he was worth it! Ooooh that still makes me mad! Well, then Dad said we wanted to adopt him. Since we were already fostering him, the town said that there wouldn't be an adoption fee. Dad brought him right home, and now he's a part of OUR family.
And Mom? Yep. She came around. She loves him almost as much as I do.
I was DOTD today! I don't believe it! I'm so excited, and Peach is so jealous. I don't have much of a chance to update my diary any more, and I don't go into the forums much 'cause my sis (I call her mom now) is back in school working on her MBA. Daddy came to live with us last year so we have some company while she's at school. He takes really good care of us.
Peach and I went through a period where we were fighting a lot, but thanks to a couple of really good trainers and a lot of patience on mom and dad's part, we're getting along pretty good these days. We'll still have a tussle occasionally, but for the most part we're getting along.
Anyhoo, I guess I should let the old girl get some sleep. I think I'm going to learn how to type so I don't need her to do it for me. =)
Thanks, Dogster, for DOTD, and thanks everyone for the nice notes, stars, zealies, and overall kind words. Love you all, and I'll check back in soon.
So, everybody, guess what?????? I finally got to meet my honey in the fur. Yep, we finally met. You all know him as Sneaker, but to me, he's my little Sneakie-Poo. I played a little hard to get at first, but I really, really like him. We have so much in common. Besides the fact that we're both schipperkes, thus we're both gorgeous, we both have annoying sibs who bark a lot. Of course his brother Sunny is a whole lot less annoying than Peach is, but still -- he does bark! And his mom and my sis have the same name. And we both love potato chips and chicken! Isn't that amazing????
Of course, we weren't there more than five minutes and Peach had to embarrass me by falling in the pool. Luckily, Sneakie-Poo has a really cool mom who jumped in to save her! Peach pretended like she knows how to swim, but she really wasn't that good at it. My sis says that we can go visit again, if we weren't so bad that Sneakie's mom doesn't want us.
