Halloween 2007

Whew, Halloween 2007 was another fun filled evening for me. First, I had my picture taken in my costume (see above). I was very good and posed forever while they messed with camera settings. Then I went for a walk, mom said it was to get the "crazies" out of me - whatever that means. Then I met up with my fan club and went trick or treating with them. They were Peter Pan, Tinkerbell and Captain Hook and I was Tick Tock the Crocodile. Mom made my costume, I think I look great in it. I was more than happy to walk around the neighborhood showing off my costume to everyone. Again, no treats for the dog from any of the houses, very sad. But mom brought a bag of my treats with us, so I was able to have a snack with my fan club when we got back to the house.

Hope everyone had a Happy Halloween! Oh and a shout out to my cousin Carter who got scared by the evil vacuum cleaner last night :-)

Halloween

Hi Everyone,

This year I dressed up as a cow for Halloween and went trick or treating with my "fan club" (see above pictures). They were all dressed up as cow girls, so we were very coordinated. I loved going out with them and even went right up to the door looking for my treat too. Sadly not many houses had treats for puppies. That would be my suggestion for everyone next year - puppy treats as well as candy for the trick or treaters!

I Love Winter and Snow

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to let you know that I'm doing well, really well as a matter of fact. I can go outside without that stupid runner on and go wherever I want in my newly fenced in back yard. It's fabulous.

I also am very happy that the cold weather and snow are here. I just love sitting outside on the porch and watching the snow fall. Or bounding around in the back yard in all the new snow. And ever just rooting around in the snow and getting my nose all snowy.

The best part though, is running back in and snuggling my cold snowy self right up to mom or dad ;-)

Where did the summer go?

My goodness, I cannot believe how long it's been since I updated my diary! I also CanNot believe that it is already October, when did that happen??

So some exciting things are going on here. Mom and Dad are going to get a fence put in for me. Right now I run around on a runner out there, I'm smart enough not to get stuck around the trees, but because I don't like the runner I get stuck all the time and make them come out and get me. There's an invisible fence here, but my vet said I shouldn't try it with my seizures. So, fabulous fenced in back yard, here I come. I'm so excited. There are flags all over the yard marking I don't know what, but I think it's a sign that it will be here soon!

I'll have dad take my picture next to it once it's in. Speaking of which, I've gotta get on them about updating my pictures, those are so out of date. I'm proudly wearing my dogster bandana, I love it! Maybe I'll have that picture put up too.

If mom and dad would stop working and get off the computers I'd put in more updates, I'll have to work on that.

Thank goodness it's the 5th

I know, I know, that this past holiday is very important to our country and our servicemen and women, but I'm just very glad it's over.

I do not like the fireworks, firecrackers, bottle rockets, etc. I spent nearly the whole evening under the bed (that's my safe spot). I decided it was safe to come out and sleep on the bed around 1:30 a.m. And then around 3:00 a.m. I decided that it was safe to go outside. Dad was nice enough to get up with me and take me out to the bathroom then.

So today, I'm sleeping off the firework alert on a nice quiet overcast day.

Doggie Dynamics

So my mom decided to fill out the doggie dynamics table and I thought that I should clarify a few things - just to make sure everyone gets a good sense of me.

I am very energetic, I will give her that. Even in my advancing years (I'm nearly 7), I still require a good amount of attention and exercise and as mentioned often, I do love my agility.

I am very intelligent, I thought that mom should have listed me as a genius, but she said I was being a bit full of myself. Come on look at my past exploits and things I've gotten into (and out of) I'm one smart cookie.

I am very friendly (unless I think you're trying to break into my house - a girl's gotta defend her castle). I love people and I think all people should love me - nuff said.

Playfulness, yup I love to play, play, play, play!

So here's my real beef, disposition, mom put me down as on the anxious side. Now, true I need to know where my people are, and I'm not going to lie I'd prefer to have them both around. I'd also prefer that there weren't any thunder storms or fireworks. And when I'm in new situations, I like to check in with mom and dad to be sure everything's okay - but come on, that's just good behavior, isn't it??

So I watched Inside the Actors Studio with my mom the other day and he always wraps up with this set of questions. I wanted to answer them too, so here goes.

07. What sound or noise do you hate? - Thunder/Fireworks

08. What profession other than your own would you like to attempt? - Search and Rescue Dog

09. What profession would you not like to attempt? - Anything in the Fireworks industry (they scare me)

10. If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates? - Well first of all, of course dogs are welcome and then I have a nice Tempurpedic bed for you to wait on until your mom and dad arrive.

Long time, no write

Wow, I didn't realize that it had been so long since I'd last written!

I feel that it is very important to start every day off with belly rubs. You've got to use the right technique to get them, otherwise mom and dad will tell you to get off the bed or that it's time to get up. So don't wait too long after that annoying alarm thing goes off; hop up on the bed, snuggle up with mom or dad, look all cute and sweet, paw at them lightly (not too heavily or they'll get annoyed) and then bam you've got yourself a belly rub.

Breakfast one the weekends: A lot of times dad will go out and get breakfast on the weekends. He'll ask mom what she wants and she'll say whatever and he asks me what I want, but he never comes home with anything for me. I tell him that I would like a bacon mcsausage with cheese.......nothing. Or a have it my way bacon and sausage with cheese........ nothing. Or a donut with bacon bits on it and gravy coffee.......nothing. He tries to tell me that they always run out of those items because they're so popular, but I'm not buying it. Once I went with him through the drive through, cause I thought that way I could get my own order in (and he could still pay), but that didn't work out so well either. The lady gave him a bone for me - it was good and all, but I can get those at home and it didn't smell nearly as good as the rest of the smells coming out of that place. Sigh.

I'm looking for a new place to do agility out here in MN, so if you know of any, let me know. Because I Love to do Agility. It's so fun to race around, up and down, over, and to go through tunnels. Wow, I really miss my agility instructors and class from back East.

That's about it - it's really nice out here today, so I think I'm going to go take a nap outside while mom and dad do yard work.
