We lost Rickie this morning.

Last night she was having some sort of trouble, and stopped moving around. She refused treats - a big indicator. Keith stayed with her last night and this morning, she wasn't any better. So he took her in.

She passed peacefully with Keith right there. We're certain she is off having a grand old time in Doggy Heaven. We'll get her remains and Keith will scatter them in places Rickie loved.

So here's to Rickie, and all the other 4-legged family members who show us such unconditional love.

We're doing okay. We've known it was coming for a while, and we're so glad she lasted this long. She really had a good time with Keith during their trip to Florida, and I know Keith is super thankful that they had that special time.

The cats aren't too bothered, and so far Honey is doing ok. I think she will get awfully lonely during the day when we're not here, but she does have the cats to mess with.

We may someday adopt another dog.... but not for a while.
