Just being cute. In her younger days, she could sit up and beg forever!
Arrival Story:
Oscar picked me out, not the other way around. I was at the breeder's, looking at a pen full of weiner-dog puppies, who were all pretty much ignoring me, except for Oscar, who broke away from the pack and as I walked around the pen, she followed me around from the inside, jumping up at me with that "I pick YOU!" look whenever I would stop. Clearly, I was "the one" for her, so I took her home with me!
Bio:
After watching the movie "Dances with Wolves," we decided to give all of our pets Indian names....Oscar's is "Thinks She's a Cat." (she lived with four cats from the day I brought her home, until she was about 12 years old...and never figured out that she wasn't one of them!)

Oscar, my love....for days, I have agonized over what I could possibly write that would adequately express my devotion to you. My first inclination was to write something eloquent and profound. But our relationship has never been either eloquent or profound. So, I decided that the most meaningful I could do for you is to simply repeat the very things I have said to you each and every day of your life:
1. I love you.
2. I will always love you, no matter what.
3. There's not one thing that will ever make me not love you.
4. You are the cutest and most loved dog in the world. (I know lots of other moms have told their pups the very same thing....but they are wrong!)
5. {smooch on the head, smooch on the head, smooch on the head} That's our little ritual....three kisses on top of the head, that translates to mean "No other dog in the history of the world has ever been more loved than you."
There. I've said all of these things about a million times over the last 16 years, but this is the first time I have ever written them down. It doesn't make them any more true....it just makes them more permanent. Someday many years from now, someone will unearth this record, and know that you were not just some ordinary dog......you were the cutest and most loved dog in the world!
