Arrival Story:
APRIL 24, 2009 -- RIP Jack. We were able to adopt Jack by a strange twist of luck. One day my mom said that we were going to go look at a German Shepherd and see if we could adopt him. Unfortunately, he had already been taken by the time we got there. Our family had never had a dog, and my sister and I were pretty disappointed. To try to cheer us up, my mom took us to the Kennebunk Animal Welfare Center to look at other dogs. She didn't expect us to really get one, but then we met Jack. His name at the time was Trotter. He was very skinny and his left ear was infected with a digusting bacteria. He had over 12 pieces of birdshot in his backside. He was found as a stray in Acton and had Lyme disease. But he was friendly and only wanted to be loved. The next day, we brought our dad (who had not been with us before) to see if he approved of the dog. The shelter let us take him into a room to play with. My dad couldn't refuse and we adopted him on the spot. It turns out luck had struck again, because if we would have arrived 10 minutes later than we did, he would have been adopted by somebody else. We changed his name to Jack and he has been happily living with us ever since. UPDATE 5/19/2006 checkup Jack weighs 77 lbs.

Jack's belly turns black in the spring due to seasonal allergies. In the fall, after the first frost, his belly turns pink again.

I found the hive that stung Jilly and Daisy. I ended up with a large lump between my eyes for poking my nose where it shouldn't have been.
NO more bees for me.
