Arrival Story:
I had wanted a B.T. ever since I was in grade school. The time was never right before now. I think you need to be ready to put in the time so the dog is well- behaved and "balanced" as Cesar Millan (the Dog Whisperer) says: "Dogs will follow a calm, assertive leader. What dogs need: EXERCISE first and foremost, then DISCIPLINE, and then affection. " We seem to place a tremendous need for affection upon the dogs. Affection first and for us!! Our dogs dutifully comply (sometimes at the expense of their well-being). We have so many rescue dogs for this very reason. I highly recommend researching the dog/breed before making the committment. biLLy and i have been together since he was 7 weeks old.

yesterday was my first day of school. i wondered why we couldn't stay at the dog park when my pal 'Capone' showed up and wanted to play. he's one of my best pals. he's a "Frenchie" (french bulldog) and we love to wrestle in the water and mud together. he's really strong too!

as soon as Capone showed up dAddy said "it's time to go!" we were stuck in traffic for a long time, so i took a good long nap. then we arrived at "school." there were some new doggies there like me and some that had been in school for awhile already. i was so excited to learn something new. after all, who wants a steady diet of **anything**? i'm all for new experiences!!

in my first class we practiced "come," "sit," "down," "stay," "sit-stay," "down-stay," "take it," "off," walking on a leash, and the A-G-I-L-I-T-Y course. i love it all except the Agility Course. that was really confusing! so many other doggies running around that i couldn't concentrate. i got frustrated and said to myself " i'm no circus dog! why should i have to learn this?!!" then i decided on the way home that i'm going to practice really hard so that next Sunday at school, i can keep up with the other guys on that Agility Course.

well... it's time for another nap now...

Daddy likes to take me to the doggie park in silverlake when he gets home from work and i love it. I take a long nap after NannaAnna (my wOnderful and most pretty petsitter - aNNa rOssi 323 371-2420) makes her visit around the lunch hour. In fact, i take lots of naps during the day so i have PLENTY of energy when daddy gets home!!

When we get to the park, i get to see some of my "crew." We can run around off leash there and play really hard! I like to play with the pugs, B.T.s, and French Bulldogs or any dog that wants to wrestle and take turns chasing each other like we do. I especially like "Chloe." She's a pug and she likes to wrestle and play hard with all the boys!

There are some rather interesting owners at the dog park too. Daddy likes to talk to an old character who is a famous dog-trainer here in los angeles. They call him the "dog-whisperer" (like the dude on t.v.). He told daddy to buy me the femur (thigh-bone) of the cow from the butcher. He said to have the ends or "knuckles" sawed off so i can get to the marrow. Daddy puts it in the freezer for me after i chew on for awhile. That way it stays fresh and is so refreshing on a hot day! like a "pup-sickle!!" Daddy boiled the bone a little after a couple of days so it wouldn't spoil before i could eat all the extra meat and marrow. Hey, i really like that "dog-whisperer" dude. he gives daddy some good advice...
