Arrival Story:
George was one of the great loves of my life , he helped me though some emotionally challenging times and losing him him is one of those wounds that never seem to heal. George chose me I had seen an ad in the local news paper of the time where puppies where offered at a local farm. I went to that farm in the full intention of choosing a black dog, I wanted a black dog. George would have nothing of it he had decided that i was going to be his. He clomped down on the legs of my yoga and didn’t let go of me until I gave in to his better judgement. From that day on we where inseparable, he followed me faithfully to Berlin and later to the U.S

George was an intelligent dog but afflicted with an excitable temperament that often got the better of him. In much way I often compared it to my daughters ADD. Once obsessed with an idea or object it would be hard to distract him if 3 hours staring matches with the ball on the shelf where part of the Georges routine. Although he was but a middle sizes K-9 he did perceive himself a giant, courageous and often to cocky for his own good he was not opposed to defending his Alpha male status to dogs twice his size and weight .George was an epileptic who’s condition was often triggered by his excitable nature. He loved people and children and was friendly toward cats. I cannot say that he was the easiest Dog to deal with but but life with him was so much more than the sum of its parts. In 2004 he was stolen from my back yard ... for months I searched for to no avail ...not having closure is an awful thing , not knowing what happened to him , if he was hurt and alone is something that haunts me to this day ..It was and is heart breaking...
